Went to see the Cure yesterday (the missus likes em). First 15 mins I was bored shitless, but then it livened up a bit. Highlights were 100 years and strange day. They also did the sloppiest version of Boys don't cry I have ever heard.

Elbow were superb once again and the real reason I went to the gig. :thumb:

Most? id say some.

The cure on the other hand: ALL.

i never fully understood how shit the cure are until last week. they are playing the local festval, and radio stations up and down the country are full of the cure (espically lovecats and that other one). they are terrible. terrible.

Are you sure they weren't trying to say "Morrisey", but didn't have enough room on the phone?

I remember an interview once where Steve & Gillian said Charlotte Sometimes was one of their favourite ever songs.:)

Imagine how dreadful a concert circa "Pornography" would have been :sleep2:

I probably say it too often, but I like the Cure's more "up" material. I can appreciate the darker stuff as well, but too much "Disintegration" and I might look like an Ian Curtis "last moments" re-enactor :faint:

Perhaps Steve was there to steal a few drum licks, methinks :evil4: :drummer:

Or Smitty stole from Atrocity Exhibition...one or the other.

I personally prefer the darker Cure stuff best. Bring on more Pornography! (Hmm...how many times a day do I get to say that?)

I'm not fond of Lovecats or most of Wild mood swings, but most of the Cure's back catalogue is awesome. I love seeing them live, and they just kicked ass at the HFS festival in DC over a month ago. But, I like them as much as New Order - for different reasons, but just as much.

Yep, Just as Blue Eyed Boy said. Very good live. Willing to play their back catalog. I will see them in 30 days. I wish I could say that I was going to see New Order live in 30 days.

They're also playing "Push" a lot live. It's probably the best track on Head on the Door.

When Fat Bob starts dancing like Barney and their live shows become more interesting, I may consisder seeing them again, should they be in my neck of the woods.

Robert Smith dancing like Barney? It's never going to happen. Simon, however, moves a lot on stage, but doesn't look like a drunken, overweight monkey. But, he does seem to bend over a lot in skin-tight pants, although it is pretty obvious when you watch Trilogy.
