The NFL season is going to start in less than 2 months. I decided to try to form the fantasy league earlier this year so we can be more flexible when picking our draft day. Last year was pretty fun. Sean nearly won the championship before losing to a NOOL outsider. So who is up for it this year?

Also, If anyone participating this year want to make some suggestions about the scoring system. feel free to do so!

yes, we must not let an outsider win again. wen, you already got my imput on the scoring system ;) for the rest returing, i had a problem with ret/kick yards going to the defense and the actual player returning the kicks/punts getting shit.

yes, because i don't think most people participating are interesting in paying for one of the pay systems. Yahoo seems to be the only free decent systems out there.

a league at nfl.com costs $129. that would be $10.75 per team for a league of 12 teams. If we did want to pay. I prefer nfl/cbssportline.com's system.

I'd like to participate in this FFL if there still are open slots available. I don't post too often, but better a NO fan join this league then an outsider. I like the FREE aspect of Yahoo as opossed to the expense of CBS Sportsline, which we use in the league where I work. Thanks for the invite WenOrder.

Well hum, technically the ACTUAL Alouettes are the former Baltimore Stalions in the CFL ;)

But yes, the team existed before that! They just died and we didn't have football in 10 years.

Which would still probably be the case if we had a losing team...

the baltimore colt/football club/stallions or the CFL made it to the grey cup game in their first season in town, won the grey cup in their second season, and got kicked out of baltimore when the ravens arrived. :P

I was actually a fan of the team, i was a bit disappointed we could not host both teams at the same time.

Thing's aren't looking that good for me this week...but I'm used to that in a NOOL Fantasy Football League.

I'm in two other leagues (one of which I do have Manning as my QB) and I am in first place in both of them...so there must be some kind of curse that Wen has placed on me!!! :wink:

ok the remaining undefeated teams are....limegreen tangerines, gurkas, special k-dawgs and ghirl power. i play girl power week 4....one of us will no longer be undefeated. but then again gurkas and limegreen can also lose. so the possibility of one team going 4-0 is realistic. should be an interesting weekend. i can't wait!!!!!

you have the best winless team ive ever seen. is it official yet? i thought you were winning when i last checked.

i went through something similar. marc bulger had 48 yds. and 2 interceptions first half and the rams were losing 24-7 at the half. i was sooooo mad i went to sleep. woke up, go to nfl.com and see the rams won 33-27. wish i would have watched the 2nd half :( bulger ended up getting me like 70 something pts.

oh, and dante culpepper and his 102 pts? i think that may be the higest by one player all year long :)

That is the danger when you start 2 qbs in a 14 team league...

certain knobheads (like me) try to hold on to at least one starter on the bench (in case of injury or what not) and that means if you aren't all over the news, when Gruden decides he wants to start Chris Sims...you are SOL...

it also seems I enjoy collecting running backs as well...

but at least Kerry Collins put up POSITIVE points this week...

Why is it wrong? There are not enough starting QBs in the NFL because of bye weeks to support a 14 Team Fantasy Football League that require each team to start two QBs every week. We will consider this a lesson learned and change the settings next season.

The solution is to arrange deals with other teams and share the lower tier starting QBs. It is not like two teams are conspiring to see another team loose. Unless you are the wen orders or k-dawgs conspiring against the Gurkhas...just kidding guys.... :D

The PC&L League is all about having fun while playing fair...oh yea.....and the right to talk crap after stomping another team.

Hey, Mike is the only one who proposed a trade, I've been whining about having no QB for the last month!!

Boller have more points than Faulk at this point, might be a rip off, but I am the weakest of the league in terms of points and I had no QB...

So if somebody would have proposed another trade, I might have said yes... so don't put the blame on Mike.

the bears turned down tim couch. im sure you could have told them that being from cleveland and all. you got a good team and i noticed that your only loss was to my fiance week 1 where you didnt have any defensive players on your roster. still though she scored 320 i think. would have been tough to beat. but you do need to lose. winning six in a row in a watered down leauge is unacceptable cause i said so.

Couch was such a waste.:barf: Best thing Cleveland did was release him. However Chicago does have something in common with Cleveland in 1999 1st round quarterback draft busts. We had Couch and you had Cade McNown. So your fiance has a better team then you. :eek: Are you getting any pointers from her? Limegreen Tangerines are kicking ass in points and there's no way I would have scored 300+ points in week one, even with stud defensive players. :laugh: Good luck to all this week. :beer:

yo, should scoring on defense be changed from 2 to 3 for forced fumbles and 2 to 4 for interceptions and fumble recoveries and sacks???? personally i think they should remain the same because if ppl did what i did on defense i built my team around linebackers who get a lot of tackles. this might help some teams and hurt others and with all due respect, i think its too late to change the scorings. and it will suck trying to add players with 20 tackles and 7 sacks. it makes sense that you get more for turnovers and sacks but i think at this point, its too late. this is not anyones fault, we all missed it and by the time i personally realized it week 4 or 5, i didnt think it was even that big of deal. please no fits and finger pointing, just vote and your opinions/suggestions.

i vote "no, keep scoring as is but for sure next year increase the points for sacks, interceptions, and fumble recoveries"

this doesnt at all affect this past weekends scores and we have until saturday to change it.

A couple of my friends and their friends have a fantasy hockey league that I have dominated the past 3 seasons...but it's just as good there is a lockout...they weren't going to let me play this year...

and while we're at it...what is it with the NOOL league and me...I'm in 3 other leagues, and I'm in first in two of them, and second in the other...

maybe you guys are better than the others???

this leauge is tough especially with 14 teams, talent levels get watered down a bit. i agree with wenorder, nic, you impressed a bunch, you did better than some people who grew up loving football. anne's team has a final tough match-up with wenorders. i dont think shadowplay has a chance against limegreen and jeff should win next week. my predictions with records and points are:

Well, I would be better if I would watch the games and know the news and injuries faster...

There are so many trades on sunday, when I get the status update the monday, it's mostly too late, all reserve QBs are gone

I would have won 2 more games without stupid mistakes I've done... and I believe I started the league with 2 empty spots without knowing it !

So Jeff managed to squeeze into the playoff! And Anne got knocked off!

Some interesting match ups in our first Week of our playoffs.

WenOrders Vs Limegreen Tangerines --- A rematch of a game that I won by less than one point! I may not be so lucky this time :)

Celtic Football Club vs The Shellshock---- CFC starts the season 0-5. Most people already wrote him off as one of the basement dwellers of the league. Jeff manages to orchestrate a major comeback to become the #7 Seed! CFC Faces a dominate newcomer to the PCLFL. The Shellshock's only loses are from the other elite teams of the league!

Ryooso Vs. The Special K Dawgs ----- Plagued by a bad draft and some bad roster moves, My wife, owner of the Ryoosos almost given up on the season. But Determined to stick with it knowing that her chances of success in the league this year was slim, she still manages to made it to the playoffs. She Faces Kamar's K-Dawgs! After an average season last year, The K-dawgs (formerly the cure) Dominates this year earning the #1 seed! Congrats Kamar. The Ryoosos beat the heavily favorite K-Dawgs earlier this season. Can she do it again? Another note, this first week of the playoffs is also a "battle of the couples" Me versus Lindsey (kamar gf) and Kamar vs my wife :)

Shadowplay Vs. Grukhas---- Last year's King of the league makes it back to the playoffs this year. Even though he was not as dominate as he was last year, The Grukhas remains on of the PCLFL elite! League Newcomer Shadowplay could have been one of this years top teams, if it wasn't for some tough close loses.

And for the rest who did not make it to the playoffs.

Ghirl Power---- Started off strong. Thought to be one of the elite. But quickly fell. Kinda like the Minnesota Vikings.

Tritons-- Tristan's team. He manages to go through the whole season with out making ANY roster moves or managements. Still ended the season with a 5-8. Hung in the top 8 for a while.

Jerrybears ---- A newcomer. One of kamar's or shadowplays friends. Dunno if he was actually trying this year.

Alouettes ---- Spotnick's team. Did pretty well for someone not familiar with american football. He lost some close ones! I hope you join us again next year

Chicago Punk Monkeys ---- Another newcomer. I heard He was actually trying hard to win this year. Only Manage to win 2 games :(

Section 25 ---- Michael McDermott's team. Where did you go? Gave up early this year. :(

well it was a fun year. sadly, I will not be able to move on in the playoffs thanks to ryoos's ass kicking of my team. This is actually depressing. however, it was not an upset, she has a really good team and I had chris brown and his 2 fumbles and chris chandlers 6 interceptions fucking it up for me. But, no excuses, she beat me, thats all that matters. congratulations.

and the wenorders beat limegreen tangerines, thus completing the sweep for the "wen" family. congrats!!!! (you bastards :P)

some thoughts on my team:

biggest surprise: Mushin Muhammad 68 receptions 1060 yards and 11 tds

biggest downer: amani toomer 46 receptions 678 yards and zero tds

sleeper: jason witten 67 receptions 787 yards and 5 tds

Wow! I didn't think i'd beat Limegreens again. But at least I won more than a fraction of a point this time! Well Me and Soyoung won the battle of the couples this year,I can't wait for a rematch next year! I hope lindsey plays again :).

This week's match up:

The Battle of the Significant Other. The WenOrders Vs. The Ryoosos Yes, now I have to face my wife again. I usually okay if she beats me. I rather have that than what I have to deal with if I win. But this is the playoffs.....

The Battle of the Titans The Grukhas vs. The Shellshock What can I say? it's going to be an interesting match between the 2 of the strongest teams in the league. The Grukhas may be in trouble this week because of his QB situation...

And the consolation games. Winners of these games will go on to play for 5th place.

The Battle of the Significant Other. Part 2 The Special K Dawgs vs. The Limegreen Tangerines Kamar had such a good season this year. But couldn't finish the job. As commissioner of the league, I award The Special K Dawgs the First Annual "Grukhas" Award. The Grukhas set the standard last year. :P.

Kamar faces his lovely Gf lindsey, who had a pretty good year for a first year player.

The Other Two The Shellshock had a great game last week, but unfortunately he faces a slightly stronger Grukhas team. Tough luck :(. Jeff, manage to slip into the playoffs at the last minute lost miserbly to The Shellshock. 109 point difference. Ouch!

got knocked out in one of my other leagues as well...

As you know Fantasy Football is 10% skill and 90% luck. I thought Kamar had the best team(look at point totals), but all it takes are a couple of bad games to tank your season. Thanks to all for allowing me the privalege to play in this league. There were a few teams (Limegreen,Special K and Gurkas)that kicked my but during the regular season and I feel had more formible line ups that could really pile up the points, however anything can and will happen in the playoffs.
Special thanks to WenOrder for running the league. :clap: I didn't know the champion recieved a leaugue trophy, that's top notch! Everyone in the PC&L league were great fun and I can't wait to play again next year!
