Not really, did you see it? I was pondering getting it but apparently I'd have needed to subscribe to Setantra or something for a month. Would like to see it but can't really get excited about a pre-season win, even a 5-1 thrashing. I heard Celtic fielded a weakened team, is that right?

Well - kinda, most of the youngsters made an appearance at one stage....

Marshall, Cuthbert, Wallace, O'Dea, McGeady, Pearson, Beattie.

Just shows we lack a decent squad me ole fruitcake, we seriously need a couple of players at least. Latest rumours are Kanu :nod: and that Camara from Wolves :nonono:

All the games are on Setanta. I think John's probably taped over it already....I WAS gonna watch it, but not after that scoreline!

Really?

I thought Camara was GASH last year - except a couple of cracking goals in the last few games.

Kanu is class. I remember Nigeria playing Scotland a year back, no-one could get near Kanu, miles ahead of everyone else. I think if he played every week it would only be good, and we need a bit of class in the Champs League.

I'm just glad I had plenty of stout around to keep from realizing just how ugly it was...and it doesn't look like all Celtic needs is a striker or two...maybe we can kidnap Mjallby and get him back on the side...Joos has looked completely lost out there several times...

but....it was JUST A FRIENDLY!!! :wink:

and there is the wee bit of difference between the EPL and the SPL...

Talk us through it, what was our starting line up? Who shone? What substitutions were made? Any areas we looked deficient in?

Were you boss??? Well, Owen looked like he was having a friendly stroll through the park with the ball at times...

After seeing Chelsea, Man U and Liverpool these past 3 days...Liverpool has looked the best...Chelsea beat Celtic, but they didn't utterly dominate the bhoys the way your Reds did...I just feel sorry for whoever has to decide which lad plays up front with Owen...what do you do, flip a coin to decide if it's Baros or Cisse???

If the Reds play all season like they did last night...they are gonna give the Gooners a run for the title..I don't like Chelsea's chances...and Man U looked awful against Bayern Munich...talk about BORING!!!

so to sum it up for you Hanky...your side looked very strong...I can't think of anything negative to say about their performance last night...it was...erm...humbling to say the least!!!

Thought Liverpool looked better than Man U did last year against Celtic, the Bhoys were definitely a step slow in every step of the game, even the commentator Chinglia (?) made a comment about how when the Celts were on offense, they kept going backward rather than forward in the Liverpool end.

Not to make excuses, but I thought something like last night might happen; it was really hot in Seattle Sat. afternoon, the team leaves on a cross country flight and loses three hours due to the time zone difference, and has to play a rested team ( I know they're professionals and all) about a day and a half later. Owen was on at half and said something about the weather being warmer than what they were used to. Still, no matter, Liverpool were clearly in control for the entire game and the final score indicates how much so.

Hope your right there Al as Camara is signing tomorrow on a year long loan deal. Hardly the big name we were looking for, but if MON rates him, then we can at least give him a chance.

That's a bit better - just watched the Man U highlights......we won 2-1, Beattie gets his 4th in 3 games. Sutton penalty - one downer Thompson received an injury after wild lunge from young Chris Eagles. 5 stitches in his leg - hopefully it's only a superficial injury.

Great to see MON back with the boys. Smith scored a header for the Mancy lads. He was roundly booed all night thanks to his allegiance with the forces of darkness.

Twas only a friendly - but, fuck me, it was good to finally get a win!
