I recently discovered the british band Keane and was pleasantly surprised. Somehow, they sound a bit like Coldplay, maybe with a minor edge. Their single "Somewhere Only We Know" is great I think.
Anyone knows them too ?

One of those bands for me that fall into the "Is it OK to like them?" category. Was aware of the two singles over here, then my Mrs came home with the album. Takes a few listens, but I think it's really good. On the other hand I know a lot of people hate them with a passion for being a bit girly.
They don't have a guitarist, which is a bit different I suppose. Bend And Break is one of my favourite tunes this year.
I wasnt too fussed at first,but after hearing the album i changed my mind. Theres a great track on "Hopes and Fears" called "Sunshine",which would make a good single.
Yeah, agree on both sides.
I think they are a bit too soft, which makes that album (Hopes and Fears) an "occasional album", the one you are listening to when you are in the mood for soft music.
Otherwise, maybe they are a bit girlie! ;)
I wasn’t that convinced by their first single ‘Something To Rely On’, but the name Keane had appeared on several worthy music forums earlier in the year and ‘Everybody’s Changing’ is brilliant.
Comparing a vocalist to Morten Harket may not seem too great a compliment (unless you believe he has the greatest male voice ever to have been recorded), but I can hear echoes of that in Tom Chaplin’s recordings.
When he sings the last line: “Aahh… Everybody’s changing and I don’t feel the same.” of ‘Everybody’s Changing’,
or the chorus to ‘Bedshaped’: “with the sun in your eyes…”
Tom puts an element of feeling into the vocals, but as a performance, not just for the sake of grabbing the listener’s attention.
Tim Rice-Oxley does his bit too on the piano synths.
Even with those a-ha comparisons, Keane are a unique trio.
They are not afraid to take musical risks - a bigger compliment now than ever before (with major record companies desperate to screw quick-fix, one-dimensional singles out of everyone). Risks that I’d much rather listen to than the 3-chord songs or the plastic populism we are constantly attempted to be force-fed with these days.

Heard a snippet of that single by them on telly the other day and it sounded alright to me, will need to hear more though. Do they have a website?
