Just back from Iceland 10 interesting things I learned were:

  1. Icelandic for 'Bob the Builder' is 'Baby Bugger'.

  2. Beer is fooking extortionate (£6 pint):jawdrop:

  3. Their coffee is wonderful (particularly their Swiss Moccha's)

  4. Reputedly 3 females to every male with lots of blonde ice maidens:love2:

  5. Icelandics have a preference for rap and 'old' metal. They have Icelandic rap bands which are godawful...

  6. The country has absolutely no litter and their public transport system runs flawlessly

  7. Fantastic scenery and some of the most bizarre sites you are ever to see (geysers, steam pissing out of road drains, masses of goethermal activity)

  8. Their naturally obtained hot water stinks of rotten eggs due to sulphuric gasses - NICE when you take a shower

  9. Dodgy dried fish in packets:nonono:

10)Breakfast consisting of gouda cheese, coffee, more gouda cheese, toast, then more gouda cheese.....

Oh, and they all speak the queen's english impeccably

Well recommended

If i could i'd move there, or Norway, don't care, just as long as it's cold and dark for half the year. Yeah, i'm sure that will make me happy

Try Sweden! :thumb: I was a goth, but that was twenty years ago. I would love to live in Sweden, a friend of mine was born there and she loves it, even Bellingham, Washington would be a good place to live. I could be really morbid and go on the Kurt Cobain misery tour, same with Ian in Manchester, i would love that.

I say you should move to Nome, Alaska, or maybe Murmansk in Russia.

i've been in the reykjavik airport several times, but i actually left it's confines on a layover a few years ago. i went from the airport to my hotel in keflavik and back to the airport again. all i saw was darkness and snow, unfortunately. i'd like to go back when i have time to sit in the hot springs...and when i have money to burn!

I'm just back from a week there too, great place, really want to go vack.

You were ripped off m8 if you paid 6quid a pint. Even in Damon Albarns bar it was Less than 4quid and if you go where the locals go then it can be had for Just over 2.

Alternatively buy it at the airport when you land as their duty free is pretty cheap, esp for malt whisky.
