A friend has recently bought a sony laptop with wireless connection.

Their house already has two pc's & laptop networked ( via speedtouch kit) and all pcs can access internet via broadband (AOL 512k Gold) - the laptop connects wirelessly.

I have been able to get the new lap top onto the network, but i'm unable to establish an internet connection from it. When i try to run AOL i get the error message DNS server not found.

Any ideas

Went round last night to try and do it and after 3 hours gave, then realised you have to phyiscally switch on the wireless connection - i hate computers :computer2:

Run the internet connection wizard on the laptop...

Basically, your gateway is not set right, but the connection wizard will solve it all.

Tried that and it didn't work, but thx anyway , turns out said laptop was a'display' model that staff could take home, its got a million and one viruses on it, getting it back tomorrow all cleaned up.
