some great people in it

jet li maggie cheung tony leung

some fantastic scenes

but overall very disappointing as a film

Haven't seen it (nor really want to), but as a box office cashier, I notice a lot of dodgy 25-30ish guys going to see it. (Think Comicbook Store guys from "The Simpsons") :thumbdown:

Quite appropriate that FatCunt went to a screening, then. He gives off a sort of "overweight, Star Trek-loving virgin" kind of vibe... :laugh:

I ordered this movie on DVD (uncut version, not like the American one) from China a year ago (it was released in 2001). Great movie! Zhang Yimou's new one, "House of Flying Daggers" (or "Lovers" if you want to go by the international title), looks to be great, too. I'd recommend going to see it definitely. Then again, just buy it on ebay for $7.00.

I might be the only one, but I still have a problem to see martial art movies with people flying....

I mean, Jackie Chan isn't perfect, but at least you know he's doing them for real!
