Been downloading a Joy Division boot for the past two days, 22 hours left. Yes, i have cable but am not complaining. But was able to get a 1982 SBD of the Pyschedelic Furs and a Dinosaur Jr from 1989.
For you kewl peeps, a Skidrow gig is also available.
Legal bootlegs free to download. Uses a Bit torrent system, read the Technobable forum to get started. I estimate I dled at least 100 conceerts from here.

Anyway, why so long with the JD download? I average about 3hrs for a show.
I have no idea why this 600+ MB DL is taking 3 days+. I am now at 81%. Was at 70% 9 hours ago when I went to bed. Either he has a firewall or a crappy ISP or internet gremlins.
Are you using SP2?
There are supposedly some bittorrent issues caused by it because it limits the number of TCP connections to 10.
From another site:
"After installing SP2, Windows is limited to initialising only 10 TCP connection attempts at a time. This does not mean you can only have 10 connections, it means you can only have 10 connection attempts occuring at once, for example, if your PC tries to initialise 20 TCP connections, the first 10 will succeed and the second 10 will be queued. "So what?" you might say. Well, if you use BitTorrent (Azureus etc.) to download files then this may slow up your speeds considerably. The first thing you should do is use BitTorrent as you would normally for a few days. Then do this:
Go into the Administration Tools section of Control Panel and check out the Event Viewer. Look in the System section and see if you have any entries like this:

One or two of those is acceptable, but if you have a huge list of them, you have a problem with Windows stifling your connection. The best way to fix this is to use Azureus as your BitTorrent client and make a simple configuration change in the program:
View - Configuration - Transfer - Check the box next to "Slowly connect new peer connections etc. etc." - Hit the Save button. Restart Azureus.
This should cure your problem. If it doesn't, you may need to look at applying a patch that increases the number of TCP connection attempts allowed."

Never had this problem before although I will admit that the NO and JD gigs take longer to DL than other bands:(
So anyway, after my last post it says I have 15 hours left. I am AFK fo 6 and and return to see the PC frozen, modem blinking weirdly and my daughter telling me that the tv is broken. Quick restart and reset before the moment of truth: DL completed

BTW I would periodically stop the DL for pc maintence (spyware removal ect and rebooting) and for the online game I played Tuesday eve for a few hours. Still it was 5 KiBs at best, 3 always it seemed and often at 1. Also this was about a 700 MB DL or nearly twice as large as most.
Now I just started DLing a Cure gig up to 88 KiBs already, less than 2 hours for 350 MB.

I have "a journey that leads to the sun" on cd, cost me $75 because i would not have a clue what to do with a bittorrent file.

I suspect that the one remaining person sharing it was on a modem. Trackers down for the JD boot but thanks for the site, looks interesting.
Buffer Low, you need to dl and convert or use a player that can run flac files. All of this is free. My burner automatically converts flac to wav for audio cds.
