I happened to be cruising through Anderson with the grandma and sis when I saw something called "Brian Wilson Presents SMILE". It's a new recording of the legendary "lost album" from the Beach Boys, done by Wilson and his backing band. :jump:

I'm gonna try and get this sooner rather than later (possibly even tomorrow). Just wondering if anyone else has it/plans on getting it/doesn't give a shit anyway and just wants me to shut up about it

Brian Wilson is one of the strangest and fucked up people in the world. But you have to give him credit for Pet Sounds--all that analog equipment and ancient shit, still nobody knows how they created alot that sound.

Not really interested in the new album but sorta curious. the Beach Bums not really my cup of tea.

Remember that the Beach Boys played every 4th of July at theReagan White House.

The mans a Genius. Get it.

(also: the "beach boys" are all the other fuckers in the band, and not the songwriter who has to call himself "Brian Wilson")

catch him live if you can

You are correct. While the Beach Boys toured after the release of Pet Sounds Wilson stayed home out of fear or mental illness or what later can be called proto-Bernard Syndrome.

I do like Psychic TV's cover of Good Vibrations.

Anyway, Wilson will come to Brazil next month, he'll perform the songs from "Smile" and "Pet Sounds".

I picked it up today and am listening to it as we speak. It's pretty good so far (seeing as I'm only on the third track). :thumb:
