FUCK ME!!!!

I havnae been this excited since we reached the UEFA Cup Final. I nip down to the shops for the Daily Record, 6 slices of square sausage and some fresh rolls, and come back and find the missus has signed for some strange bomb like package!

I deliberately made something to eat first and had a cup of coffee - so the anticipation was at it's highest, one more cup of coffee and BANG!

Luckily enough the missus quite likes The Clash, which is just as well, cos for the foreseeable future, that's what's gonna be on in Sludden Heights.

Absolute fookin star mate, I will send you an email as well, but I just had to mention it here, just to show that a lot of us on here are the genuine article

After yesterday's disappointing result against Norway, I needed some relief, luckily the Republic done the bees knees against the French, shame they couldnae snatch a winner.

Anyway, straight after the Republic game, I decided to try out one of the Clash DVD's, the missus went out for a girlie night out with her cousins. Shoved on the Essential Clash, dogs bahollocks matey! Loadsa footage I hadnae seen before, espescially White Riot from 1976!!! Having only been into the Clash for the last few years, this stuff was great. But I can see why they never released Hell W10;) I didnae see Joe anywhere in that film, or did I miss him Gary? Very Charlie Chaplin with a Capone backdrop:D Twas a good interview with ole Buck Teeth at the end as well. I decided on an earlyish night, but I was still a bit wound up, so I decided to put on The Last Testament in me bedroom, again, cracking stuff, and good to see the whole mad goings on in the Wessex Studios with that mad producer.....and I thought Martin Hannett was a bit foowked in the head! London Calling was the first Clash album I bought, and I think I said it before, it took a while to grow on me, but hearing the songs in the background relieved the ole senses again, I have it on as I type away mate, so job's a good un. Some classic quotes in that Pennie Smith book, but we'll save some of them for a bar when we all meet up again. Just Westway to watch now mate. I'll save that for a week night when the telly is gash.

That Pennie Smith book of pics is superb. I presume that the Last Testament program is the same that is now available on the 25th anniversary reissue of London Calling, and yes, it was amusing to see Guy Stevens going bonkers in the studio.

Correct assumption re: last testament

Agreed the Pennie Smith book is a classic of it's genre , love to have seen a similar thing for the order , if only to see what they'd write in the caption section ! Scary prices nowadays for a Penny S original Clash print , as for one of Simenon's London paintings , they all seem to start at £10 ,000 + :jawdrop: , bit outta my price range , fookin way out actualy , but still coveted by me and Mrs garymac nonetheless :shrug:

Hopin to pick up some Ray Lowry ( Clash cartoonist , NME , Guardian etc ) originals next month , not too everyones taste but the guy has still got a bit of venom and humour
