A few people have put some cracking links to sites where you can get Movies, Nicos put up a cracker a while back.

Only problem is, most of em are AVI files, and while I can play them (thanks to MYOB) This computer has very little space left to store the stuff.

Has anyone got a link to any sites where I can find movies in an mpeg format? That way I can quickly transfer them to a VCD.

Blagging as usual - but what's new;)

Cheers for any help:thumb:

You could get an external drive to plug into a USB port and then you could take it anywhere.

ok as promised a quick rundown on how to use bittorent. first of all get yourself a bittorent client such as bittornado, its the one i use so for the sake of this thread ill use it as an example. there are other programs out there to do the same thing so its up to yourselves which you use. you can get bittornado from?

http://www.bittornado.com/

just download the program and follow the instructions ect.

once you have bittornado installed hop on over to?

http://www.suprnova.org/

here you will find,games,films,mp3,cartoons,tv shows, comics you name it ect. when you log onto the site you will see a list of the latest torrents posted up,but if you dont see what you are looking then click on say the movies link and then choose a selection IE: comedy, drama , sci-fi ect.

for the sake of this post lets say you pick drama, then scroll down to choose a film "one flew over the cuckoos nest" as an example.

on the right hand side of the file you will see how many mb it will take up on your disc, how many are seeding the file(allowing people to download from them)and how many downloads are in progress (from which you also download from),you will also see what type of file it is ie CAM,TELESYNC,DIVX,AVI,DVD ect.

now double click on the film you want, you will now download the server link and bittornado will ask you to either save or open the link. SAVE the link to your desktop for ease of finding it later, now go to your bittornado icon and double click to open the program, browse to the link you have downloaded and click on it,bittornado will ask you want to download the files to so a file named C:/program files/films would be a good idea, click on the file you want and hey presto things start cooking.

once bittornado is running you will see in the top right a coloured ball, click on this and it will give you an explanation of what the different colours mean as to the status of your download,it also gives tips on download/upload rates, as with bittorents if your upload rate is to high it will kill your download so its a good idea to peg it back a bit depending on your connection speed. if anyone is on 56k and you are trying to download a film, then thats like trying to push a big big blob of jelly through a keyhole (it would take quite a long time)so try to stick to music files, anyone on broadband however the worlds your oyster,im on 2.2 mbit and films fly in at a hell of a rate.

my most important tip for anyone going to suprnova.org is to register on the forums it really is exellent and has a newbie section for almost any topic you can think of. from how do i d/load.to whats this mean, why is this happening ect and even how to burn to discs ect (which discs, which program) its all there.

oh and shugv m8 u r gonna need a bigger drive without a doubt,when u have the cash a 200gb is a good start.

hope this sorts out a few questions for anyone interested in this stuff,if not ,have a moan and ill see if i can sort it.

happy veiwing. :thumb:
