We, from the south, are soon joinning the summer.

As you know, every year we unfortunately have one or, worse, more "summer (s)hits". It's always the same, all over the world, every year.

As I can barely wait, I want to know the worst summer song you ever heard. It's a way to get ready to what will come.

I didnt want to make a poll cause I know there's a lot of them :evil4: and I wouldnt remember all.

I go with SABRINA - BOYS :barf:

PS: Read well: Summer, not Sumner :evil4:

Two words: "Hey Macarena!" :barf: :banghead: :faint:

Though to be fair, "Redneck Woman" has been unavoidable this past summer :nonono: :headoff:

The problem is that 311 is still releasing material :nono:, I didn't think Love song could be ever more agonizingly painful to hear, but they proved me wrong.

Ooh, lemme make a list:

Underdog Project - Summer Jam O'Zone - Dragostea Din Tei 3 Of A Kind - Babycakes Mark McCabe - Maniac/2000

Thats just a few off the top of my head. If you ever do dance DJ'ing in the UK or Ireland this is the kind of cack that the scummers seem to request...

Remembered a few more terrible ones

I did a set of nothing but summer hits over this summer. I was asked to repeat it the next night, refused..

Eiffel 65 - Blue DJ Casper - Cha Cha Slide DJ Otzi - Hey Baby

Found my set list for the summer hits set I did - it was buried deep within my laptops repressed memories...

Most of the crud I mentioned above. Some was actually pretty decent - I played some stuff that wasn't a traditional Summer Hit but just charted between June and August.

However, I closed the set with "Friends Forever", or whatever the hell it was called, by Vitimin C. It was a disco mainly being attended by kids at an Irish language summer camp, after all. Nausiating summer hit pap.

Cameltoe - Fannypack Hot in Herre - Nelly Dance with me (or whatever the heck it was called) - Justin Timberlake The Reason - Hoobastank That "I hate my baby's mama" song from this summer.

The list could go on. As long as I have a job where my co-workers listen to the top 40 station, my ears are bound to be flooded with crud from the airwaves.

I almost forgot about Jessica Simpson and Nina Sky. Actually, Move Ya Body is so repetitive and monotonous that you don't hear it after it's been played about 10 times in one night.

Few if any of those tracks qualify as a "Summer Hit" in the European meaning of the term - they aren't dance.Over

Over here a Summer Hit is a dance track released in the summer that gets dragged back onto the radio from clubland listeneres. They're often not in English and usually the band totally dissapears after the one single.

Looked over my setlist again, realised I'd missed some corkers - the Ketchup Song by Las Ketchup defines the concept of a Summer Hit.

Many of the songs on that list are hip-hop songs which get played oer and over at dance clubs. And 'Lean Back' is the perfect obese dance move.

My idea of a Summer Hit is limited to the same set of songs as one of my sets when I'm DJ'ing - eurodance only. With one or two north american dance exceptions, but they're rare.

On the lists I gave I think only one track isn't European - the Underdog Project one.
