I am off to Rome on Tuesday.....tips required - places of interest etc...
I know Neily went not long ago, any help appreciated.
Obviously the Colosseum and The Vatican are definites and that fountain and them steps... anything else?:D

Having been to Rome, Georgia, I can say there's nothing of interest there. It's a waste of time :D

Rent Roman Holiday, should be a few clues in there. Bocca de Verite in some church and there's a cemetery for non catholics that's quite peaceful if you like that kind of stuff.Make sure you see the Pieta de Michaelangelo on your right behind the bulletproof glass as you enter the Vatican.Oh and there's a nice litlle pizza place.........

I have just been to Celticbars.com, we now have an Irish pub in Rome to watch the Celtic v Rangers game on Wednesday night:D

Rome is a top city. We went a couple of years ago as part of a tour of Italy. We spent 3 days there and its a stunning place. Local transport is cheap and easy and can take you anywhere round the city. Food goes without saying is superb...Its just difficult to pick a restaurant as there are that many. Do all the things they tell you to do in tourist guides as they are all worth it....The Coliseum is my No1 tip.
We even managed to get to the football stadium...Its not that easy you need to get the Metro and then either walk or bus it. Cant remember what Metro stop you need to get off at...but someone will help you. The ground is fantastic.

Shug, if your off to JP's gaff get there nice n early and after the fountain go to down to The Pantheon, and tell your girlfriend to pack flat shoes as Rome is quite hilly.
