What are you talking about? the only forum not working much is swedish...
Spanish, Portuguese and French are quite active.
The french forum is almost a dead duck since most messages posted in it are off-topic, and there are only very few of them.
The swedish forum has been totally dead for about a year. Dead? Not totally since I posted very interesting messages in it these past few weeks, but a dickhead has been deleting them one after the other.

I often troll around the Swedish forum, hoping--JUST HOPING--that someone will be having a spirited discussion about Bergman's films. But it never happens. ![]()

the Spanish forum must be the (with the french surely) most active of them all. we had a bunch of events during this year in Argentina, so that helped a lot. besides, there´re people who don´t understand a word in english. so if we close the intl forums they won´t have the chance to participate anymore. is that fair?

Calling Maria a dickhead is probably wrong...

I tried doing that a few times, but Nic sent me an email telling me to stop.
I tried to grab some movies with Maria as well, but she vanished forever.

I find very amusing people who don't understand English losing their time on a website about a fuckin' british band!! How come? How can you actually lose your precious time listening to something which you don't have a single clue what's all about?!?
Why not listen to Carlos Gardel instead? - which is marvelous, BTW.

It's not because you understand and/or speak english that you understand Barney's lyrics. They're most of the time complete nonsense. Or maybe is my english worse than I think? ![]()

Actually, New Order is almost a dead duck. But the french forum is a very funny place to be. We spend most of our time talking about sex. And you're not the last one to participate, Sébastien! ![]()

Well, if you are like me, and like in my country, when I was growing up, the radio always played more english music than french music, so I never really focused on the lyrics in a song because I couldn't understand them anyways.
So I grew up listening to the melody and the music rather that the poem in the song. And it didn't change at all, I'm still that way, so it could be a song in any language, I won't change unfortunatly.
So I wouldn't have to know english to like New Order because of that... I can say that I started to understand english at 13 years old probably, but I never actually started to try to understand the lyrics, so when people try to talk about the meaning of True Faith, I've been listening to the song for about 15 years and never actually try to figure what it was all about ;)

Why not listen to Carlos Gardel instead? - which is marvelous, BTW. c´mon, man. that´s nonesense. in music, the first thing you hear is the music not the lyrics. even in your own language you usually don´t get ALL the words on the first listening. but you can say if you liked the tune. personally, until i found this site i remember singing all the NO songs wrong. and i already was a huge fan. and guess what? even now even native english speakers couldn´t tell if Barney´s singing this or that. so i´m in the opposite side of your line of thinking on this one.
Reading again my post I found it too radical - I have to step back in favour of Nic and Alejo.
I still sing some NO tunes wrong as well... please do not think I'm defending a snobbish idea of "if you don't understand English, you're not allowed to listen to NO", but it's also hard to deny that some significant part of the journey is missing... even if we're talking about Barney's lyrics!!
Substitute NO for JD in my example and it will make even more sense.
Alejo, it's good to know that we disagree on more subjects than soccer!! I only hope you don't disagree with the Gardel stuff as well...
I want a green card to write whatever I want in the swedish forum :D. I still have some old stuff I need to sell ![]()
The German forum is almost dead. The only discussion we have on it at the moment is about how dead it is.
Once when I posted something about German football it got deleated. I suspect though that may be because a Marco does not like Werder Bremen not because it was off topic.
