any fans out there? I liked them when they were with 4AD label, many pale moons ago. The "Medusa" album is simply incredible, it has a home in my heart. The new "Best of Clan of Xymox" is out and some songs are remastered/remixed like the gems: "Louisa", "Muscoviet", "A Day".

I like their 1st 4 albums. Saw them when they toured 'Twist of Shadows' (with Moev, 'Yeah Whatever' is good, 'Head Down' is excellent) and again when they toured 'Phoenix' (the album, not the city). Xymox was surprisingly good live. Many songs had a nice blend of synths and guitars similar to New Order but different in that acoustic guitars were more prominent.

Darker vocals and female lead vox on some tunes. The Stranger is a NO homage--beat very simular to Blue Monday.

I've got the "Phoenix" album - haven't listened to it for years.

Just detouring slightly (but still on the 4AD theme), I've got a bit of a passion for Dead Can Dance - who are doing a one off at The Barbican in April but Old Blue didn't fancy going with me and now it's sold out...!!!

"Twist of Shadow" really good as well, probably the most successful album. "Imagination" melancholic brilliance, a la torch song resonating with concise drum machines almost reminds of NO's "Ruined in a day". "Evelyn" is great, too.
