i used to watch johnny carson religiously when i was a kid. i remember watching his final show in 1992, unable to believe that i'd never again see another animal poop on his head or witness the clairvoyant magic of karnak the magnificent. he will be missed.

I never had the joy to watch Johnny's show, but it HAS to be better than the crap Leno and Letterman spew each night.
Another religious viewer here, though I was a bit young at the time and barely remember any specific moments. I always thought his cameo on "Cheers", when Cliff tries to get him to tell a joke again, is one of the best things ever. And Leno and Letterman don't compare; the only person worth watching late night now is Conan O'Brien ![]()

parkinson's fantastic, it's true, but johnny carson was in a class of his own--he was more entertaining than his guests, much of the time! and dana carvey did a spot-on imitation of him!
