Thanks to Bez winning Celebrity Big Brother, seminal Manc baggy shamblers Happy Mondays have announced two shows at London’s Britxon Academy on 25 and 26 March, supported by The Farm and with DJ sets from Inspiral Carpets' Clint Boon and The Stone Roses' Mani. more info here:

I know cynicism isn't fashionable, but that's the big deal about the Mondays? Yes, they were on Factory, but Factory had a lot of crap bands on it. So, if they do more gigs, fans will just get to see a wasted Shaun Ryder sing out of tune and Bez dance worse than Barney now does.

The Mondays were all about a time and a place (as recreated in 24HPP). However, I was not part of that time and place, and the only Factory bands I like are Joy Division/New Order. So, yes....in short, the Mondays are crap, now more than ever.

I shan't be attending, that much is certain. Only ever saw the Mondays when they were supporting the Order, and doubt if I'd even bother watching them if that were to be the case again.

Have to agree 150% with Tim.

Have seen the Mondays supporting the Order on a number of occasions. Shambolic,talentless and just an inconvenience before the Order came on :thumbdown:

I last saw the Mondays at the Cities In The Park festival 1991 and really couldn't work out how they were the headline act on the Sunday.

I bid 200% that the pair of ye's are wrong :nod: Cities In The Park and Elland Road 91 were two absolutely brilliant performances from The Mondays. The Farm were absolutely shite live though, Peter Hooton caught Ian Brown's singing influenza :lol:
