Hope they don't suck as bad as they did on SNL. But it is within driving distance.

Won them?

Winning tickets to a concert always means it'll be shite... that said, last concert I won tickets to (and attended, due to girlfriend pressure) was Busted....

Pish! I won tickets to see my favorite band at the time (I don't listen to them anymore, this was quite long ago) in a very small club and it was one of the best concerts I've been to. About 200 people there, I got to get up onstage, pick a song I wanted to hear, dance around during the song and shout into the mic at the appropriate moments, and then stage dive at the end. So there.

Might just be my experience then

Another example - won tickets to a Mark McCabe DJ set when he was in the middle of his ~17 week run at #1. Absolute shite. Met the guy since, nice bloke, crap DJ though.

Crap *performance* DJ that is. He's branched away from commercial dance, and actually had a pretty good ambient/chillout album a while ago. His #1 was him MC'ing over a dodgy 1990's remix of a dodgy 80's track...

Well as long as you don't go to the concert thinking they can recreate the album version of Mr Brightside then I think you'll have a good time. I bet they'll be good as long as you keep your expectations low.

Ah, so they copied New Order's concert style as well! Feckers can't leave anything sacred!!

Will be seeing them meself, or at least theres about a 75% chance I will - they're playing one day of Oxegen, and I'll be going to at least one day if not both, considering its pretty cheap and a twenty minute drive from house to carpark (and a three hour walk from the carpark....)

How on earth did you get yourself in a position to win busted tickets?

General prize raffle organised by a local charity. There were some good prizes (mainly booze) lower down the prize list...

I considered going to see the Killers at the Fillmore in San Francisco. The fact that they're playing 2 shows in one night turned me off a little. I understand their popularity has increased since the dates were booked but it seems a little too assembly line (McGig?) of them to do both 7pm and 11pm shows the same night.
