My vote goes to KUNG FU FIGHTING by CARL DOUGLAS, takes me back , remember kids doing Kung Fu moves outside of Chippies.
The political comment and the sublime structure of the song make it quintessential to any record collection.

Definitely The Smiths best album. But i dont think i can pick a 'best song ever'.
Might be Low-life. Or maybe the Rolling Stones' Sticky Finger (I'm sure babe would appreciate it).
I was sure you would
. By the way, the title actually is Sticky Fingers. Even better, isn't it Babe? ![]()

His "off-court" record seems more astounding to me.

College smart-alecks Camper Van Beethoven used to perform this one in concert when they were starting out, along with one of my all-time favourites, Photograph by Ringo Starr.
Best one of all time has to be The Last Farewell by Roger Whitaker, one listen to that and you'll never complain about Barney's lyrics ever again. :D
Maybe Pornography by The Cure. Not the best ever, but it certainly hits some good notes for me personally.
Single: This Mortal Coil - Song to the Siren (Or should I say best cover version??) cos it still makes me shiver when I hear it. Album: Never mind the Bollocks - Sex Pistols cos it changed music for ever.

This changed music forever doesnt wash with me. Because it changed music forever doesnt mean its the best. For me, never mind the bollock is a collection of good pop songs. But certainly not the best ever. A lot of the bands that the pistols spawned, clash, joy division etc etc produced better records.

What I meant was it changed music for me forever. It made me want to join a band.
Also best is a subjective thing is it not?![]()
