Beyoncé tried to sing in french, but if I got 5 words of the whole song, I'm quite good... seriously, what the hell was that?!

She was singing French with an American accent, although the only word I could make out was "Nuit."
Beyonce singing in french is disrespectful, i know. but what´s worst than Antonio Banderas singing the winning song? i didn´t understand that since the original singer was there in the room! i could understand if the academy didn´t want to pay for Jorge Drexler´s ticket... but they did! so why Banderas? at least Beyonce knows how to sing! i know they offered Enrique Iglesias to sing it too but he denied (at least he has a drop common sense left!). i can´t believe how disrespectful the academy was with this uruguayan friend. i´m glad he won. and i started clapping after he decided to use his speech time to sing HIS song acapella! a good way to say "fook you, you idiots!". 
I watched it for Chris Rock (the opening monologue was top-notch), and I'm glad Jamie Foxx and Morgan Freeman won (though, by all rights, he [Freeman] should've won for Shawshank), but otherwise the thing was dreadful. What was that bullcrap about having nominees onstage/presented out in the audience? Boring and uncomfortable.

It's not the first time Alejo... last year they TRIED to do this too, the local nominee from Montréal for the Belleville Triplets described in many interviews that they tried to have a big name to do the songs instead of them, but they did all they can to be there... and finally all original artists performed their songs.
So apparently, that didn't work this year.. they had Beyoncé for 3 out of 5 songs!
Oh well... they turned the song from Les Choristes into a really weird song, because this song IS good when done properly...
This isn't Oscar related per se, just about movie stars, companies, and a whole pile o' cash. Someone forwarded this to me yesterday, can't for the life of me figure out why (besides the aforementioned moolah) someone would want to remake a perfectly good movie, in this case John Waters' Hairspray, and with John fuckin' Travolta replacing Divine. Oh wait, that must be another sign of the apocalypse...
I caught glimpses of the start of two of Beyonce's performances and noticed that each time she was introduced, the announcer mentioned about how talented she was, as if to remind the audience that she was up there for a reason, other than she's the hot pop star of today. Seriously, though, why couldn't a french pop star have sung that? Her words would have been understood.

I actually am puzzled.. I don't know any of those at all, as far as I know, all big names in France these days are from Québec 
Another movie remake note, which had escaped my attention until the other day. The Bad News Bears? What can possibly be accomplished by that? Will they let the kids get away with what they did in the original? First Hairspray, now this, someone might as well get a jump start on Young Frankenstein right now.
