They were completely overlooked at The Brits,but Snow Patrol`s 'Final Straw' was excellent. The Streets also proved they could improve on their debut.

Biggest hype that everyone bought into? Keane. Have to admit i bought the album,but stopped playing it after a week.

Liked a lot what I heard of Snow Patrol, haven't bought it yet. Loved Take Me Out by Franz, hated This City by them, so I didn't bother with that album. Suppose the two albums that I played the most last year were The Real New Fall Album by The Fall, and Punk Rock by Mekons.

The Cure - Join the Dots. Their self-titled was a bit overrated. Morrisey's album wasn't bad, either.

Unlike the Simple Minds forum, I'm guessing that some of you may have heard the 2004 Intervox album 'The Darkest Hour'.

I bought an liked 'Talkie Walkie' by Air, and 'The Blue Album' by Orbital.

But Intervox is the best singer-songwriter-producer out there at the moment.

I reckon i'd have to go along with The Arcade Fire. These dudes are gonna be massive.

Hmm, I'm going to have to say New Order's In Session. 2004 didn't quite do it for me. The Cure, Franz Ferdinand, The Killers - Overrated in my opinion (yet still ok). Interpole may be the best, but theres something I can't quite gel with on their album (lack of interesting guitar for me maybe). Although In Session is no studio album, I think it really does the Get Ready era songs some great justice, besides all the songs just sound so great because of that live feel ( I can't get Paradise out of my head now!).
