Hmmm... Wonder if they'll do any more gigs, and those box sets sound bloody expensive...

Great News. I saw them twice last year, and they really are fantastic Live. With this and NewOrders tour, the summer really seems to be coming together. Its about time they put material onto DVD.

Ill go check out those festival dates o’the net.

Thanks for that.

Unlike New Order, Kraftwerk seem to reimagine their old songs really well. Radioactivity in particular sounded nothing like the album when they played it live - it was nearly housy, or maybe its just easy to bop along to it in an audience. They also reimagined their graphics/identity and worked them into the live show so well.

I really think they understand their history, their own theory very very well. Thats why I think a live CD/DVD is long overdue.

Interesting that they're chancing the Festival circuit this year, and not their own gigs. Wonder if they're gonna use the same lighting, visuals, etc, or are restrained by festival sites? They really added to the whole event.

I saw them in Bennicassim in spain last year (outdoor), they turned off all stage lights, and used the same visuals as they did in the other European indoor gigs.

Good effects, but the place went pretty dark, and people werent as inclined to dance around as usual. Fantastic festival set by the way.

I am seriously considering these gigs. Do you reckon ATR will do it?

Hey clockwork C. I saw them here last year in the Olympia it ruled, not as much as tribal gathering 96 though. The reason radio-activity sounded more upbeat is because it has been since 1992 when thier live tracks were remixed. Heres hoping we get to see them at Oxeygen.

I thought they were (ever so slightly) better indoors. It was a great gig that night (nearly exactly 1 year ago now). I think the chances of them playing Oxegen are very slim though.

It wasnt just RADIOACTIVITY (btw that Sellafield bit wasnt unique to Dublin) that was sounded radically different when they toured last year. All the tunes were really well reimagined. Tour De France (original) was breathtaking, and the Model seemed to have a church organ section (or maybe that was just me). It all sounded fantastic anyhow. The only downer was the degree of chinstroking in the Olympia - Diddnt ANYONE want to dance?

Excellent news. I caught them on a BDO tour here last year and was blown away.

The package sounds superb. Start saving!
