This is what I think of the Mondays:

Take that however you want.

Did Rob finally find his music match? :evil4:

It would have to be Hallelujah (Club mix) for me. The bit in 24HPP when the opening shrieks fade in as late-night Manchester's being viewed from a chopper is smart :thumb: (Or was that Moby's "Go" in that sequence? Haven't seen it in ages.) Failing that the Radio Mix of W.F.L. (Hannett version) is brilliant, although Oakenfold did a fcuking great job with the "Think About The Future" remix. A landmark track for Madchester whichever mix you choose.

Ally.

An honourable mention for Mad Cyril too.

"We've been curteous..."

24hrPP seems to be the only decentt track by them. At least it's the only one I can listen to without cringing.

Tied between "Hallelujah" (either the MacColl or original Madchester EP mix, 'cause the Club Mix is fuckin' awful - sorry, Ally), "Kinky afro," and "Country song" for me.

I used to hate the Mondays, too. It took me several years before I started to like them. What don't you like about them?

My vote goes to Step On.

What do you think of the original John Kongos track?

I can't stand Shaun Ryder's vocals and lyrics. Plus, Bez annoys me.

 I personally love Shaun's vocals and lyrics and I think Bez is incredible, but I certainly understand and don't blame you for how you feel! They are both pretty ridiculous!

What do you think of the Hello Girls mix? I like it personally. Shaun yelling out, "HELLO GIRLS! I LIKE THAT! I SAID I LIKE THAT!" is one of the funniest things I've ever heard. :music:

Best? Hard to tell. I'd pick KUFF DAM, CLAP YOUR HANDS, MAD CYRIL. :)

Tart Tart by a country mile. Opening bars of this give me goosebumps like only the opening bars of Ceremony can outshine. Fcuking great record. Magical moment in the 24HrPP movie when they play this as well, especially when the spacey synths come in.

Honourable mentions also for all their nastier, skankier little numbers (I did like the Mondays when they were low-down and dirty): 24HrPP, Freaky Dancin', Kuff Dam, Do It Better, Bring a Friend, Wah Wah, Yahoo, Brain Dead and the original guitar-friendly versions of Wrote For Luck and Mad Cyril.

Personally think they lost their way after Bummed although Kinky Afro and Judge Fudge were class singles, IMhO.

The whole of "Bummed", esp. 'Do It Better'. I like "Olive Oil" as well.

Always thought "Loose Fit" was the best track on "Pills....", and it certainly fits the "down and dirty" description what with it being about cavernous vaginas and all....

At first it was a yes, then a no then yes.

Most of Bummed would do it for me, but Tart Tart is just way beyond anything else they did.

LOOSE FIX the remix 12 inch of Loose Fit.QUALITY!
