I was wondering.... what is Robert Smith's relationship like with Morrissey? Do they get along? Have they ever done any songs together? What's the story between these two fascinating British icons?

They were once in a small room together and decided to have a projectile vomiting contest. Each stood on an opposite wall and tried to spew bile at the other. Of course, Moz was a vegetarian so he was already full of shit, and Robert's a fatass so he had a belly full of pie and curry. Let's just say that neither escaped unscathed and they've been best friends ever since.

Surprisingly, i dont think Morrissey has ever slagged off Robert Smith. At least not in public.

I do know that Smith and Morrissey attempted to bury the hatchet, Robert even invited him to one of his parties in the 1990s if i remember correctly.

So perhaps Real Detroit is feeding the non-existent fire by making mention of such a thing, as Smith makes up for his off-handed slam by stating he's fully aware that many die-hard Cure fans like what Morrissey does and vice- versa. But nonetheless, the microscopic flame of unrealistic hope that perhaps this millennium would see a double bill featuring both the proverbial Dukes of Dour and the infallible Pope of Mope seems to have been doused. It's all the same, though - the delicate hearts of Anglophiles nationwide probably couldn't handle such a thing.

"He was constantly saying horrible things about [The Cure]," Smith sniffs to Entertainment Weekly. "In the end, I kind of snapped and started retaliating. And it turned into some kind of petty feud. I've never liked anything he's done musically, but I don't have any kind of strong feelings of animosity towards him as a person because I've never met him."

A lot of that contradicts what i just said. But then, i only read it in books.
