make sure to check out my high school classmate sam endicott and his band 'the bravery' on conan o'brien next tuesday night.

apparently i've been living under a rock, because i had no idea they were famous--i just knew sam was in a band in new york!

anyway, i'm proud of him and i'm tickled that one of 'chester and the kumquats' (his high school band) has done good!

I must say that "rock" bands are getting better, especially those that pay homage to the 80s like The Bravery. I have a good first impression of their music; I can't tell if I like their image though.

I'll make sure to tune in to Conan (unless I missed it already!)

They came on the radio on Sunday night when me and Jim were on the way back from the rehearsal - thought it was the new Cure single!

586 rip off.

My one big beef with them is that they seem pretty disrespectful of the influences that are obviously behind them.

The Bravery are like a Strokes who listened too much to Duran Duran. I like them and I even bought the album. Despite not being original, it's quite good.

so the fact that sam's a nice guy doesn't matter then?

he sure didn't wear make-up in high school. he had long hair and an omnipresent baseball cap!

Don't they open for New Order in Hyde Park?

Christy, this is your chance :evil4:

Yeah, just checked... Hyde Park is New Order, Moby, The Bravery & Psychadelic Furs... (and whoever Graham Coxon and Dresden Dolls are)
