So I'm going to a job interview on Sunday, Emirates - Cabin Crew (ace), 3 year contract, living in Dubai and stuff. But suppose I get that job immediately, fook knows if I'm gonna make it to HP then. Don't get me wrong I really really would like to get that job but I also would like to go London as I've already paid my air ticket and hotel arrangemet. Remember when I was so worried about getting my visa? So now that I have it, I just hope it wasn't all in vain. And my brother made me cry today by telling me: Well you decide which is more important to you. If you don't wanna go to that interview then don't (in angry voice). EVERYTHING IS FOOKING IMPORTANT TO ME!!!!!!!!!

Cause I don't think they would let me do so. Anyways, spoke to Jeff and Rocket earlier about it and they said it would take them much time to get everything sorted so I don't think I'll go there before autumn.

Sad and confused, you are an employee, not a slave (NOTE TO SELF: Not sure if there's a distinction between the two in Dubai ), therefore, what you do on your holiday is up to you. Just make it clear to them that you will be on holiday on that date.

Ok a job is important, but consider:

When will you next be able to see New Order? There are always more jobs out there.

Just tell them when you won't be able to work for them at the end of theinterview,you know when they ask "is there anything you want to ask or say". It might even impress them that you are able to stand up for yourself.

BTW a friend of of a friend works for them as a pilot.

my parents have been to dubai. they say its very rich, modern, and pretty. the only thing that you might have a problem with there is alcohol, but im sure they have special areas for foreigners where they can get their drink on. they also have poor kids who should be in school perform as jockeys in camel races, thats fucked up. my mom loved it there until she saw that but she has seen worse as have i in pakistan. :(

Shouldn't be a problem Maja, When they offer you the job, tell them when you have your trip booked (they should ask if you have any holidays booked) - they just have to make sure you are not rostered for that week.

I had to cancel all my US plans because of an unexpected problem with my job - having seen the photos and read all the reports, it looks like I missed out. It is only a band though, no matter how good a time people have, and jobs pay the money for you to spend on New Order!

I heard a lot about it too and also been told one needs sort of a licence for drinking alcohol in bars and pubs. Probably the company arranges it all for the employees.
