That's my PC wallpaper. Love it. ![]()
This one (no, not Dogs Playing Poker!) has been my favourite for a long, long time, I find it to be very soothing and calming. Monet's Sunrise. Also, there's a painting by Renoir that I saw at the Bellagio in Vegas that I've not been able to find an image of, it's of an avenue lined with trees (seriously). Can't recall the title either.

hold on hold on are you implying that Mr. Ross isnt a "REAL" Artist?![]()
I love him and his work... He was not a guy whoose paintings are sold for billions
. He wanted to teach the common man (and woman) how to paint easily... And that's fun to watch (he's on german television every night - I watch it to chill out).

Let's paint some happy little bushes there, just in the corner ![]()

Now it's time to make a big decision...

I love it when he "dries" his brush by beating it on the easel. He always has (e.g. had) to laugh then...

in high school i had a hanging plant named bob ross. it had a 'fro, just like our happy little bob.
rest in peace, mr. ross.
to answer our texas friend's question: bob ross had a show on PBS in the '80s called 'the joy of painting'. within the span of thirty short minutes he could turn blank canvases into beautiful landscapes, ready for display above queen beds in super 8 motels all across america. he also had a penchant for saying things like, 'now i'll paint some happy little trees,' or, 'i'll put a happy little cabin right here, next to this happy little bush.' his voice was as gentle and sing-song as a mountain stream and a thousand picks couldn't do justice to that gorgeous afro. unfortunately, mr. ross died about 15 years ago; his son took over the show for a while, but as i haven't seen it listed in years, i assume it's no longer on the air.
in short, bob ross is one of the greatest americans who ever lived.
