I am not sure if there is has ever been asked here since I am new, but are there any Doves fans here? In case you don't know, they are from Manchester just like New Order. I just saw them for the 4th time on Monday. They were fantastic as always. Doves played a good set, my only complaints is they didn't play 'Walk In Fire' or 'Spaceface' (an old song they recorded as Sub Sub). Playing 'Spaceface' used to be a tradition for them at the end of concerts. Does anyone know if they played it during this tour at all?

My favorite song from each album is as follows: "Sea Song" (Lost Souls), "Pounding" (Last Broadcast), and "Snowden" (Some Cities).

I first saw Doves back in July 2001 at Metro in Chicago. I just so happened to be helping out with a show there the next day, and was my first time ever inside Metro. I also some them twice in 2002, once at Palais Royale during June, and then again in September at Kool Haus. This time around it was at Kool Haus again. All the last three were in Toronto of course. I was in Chicago on vacation for that first show I saw of theirs.

Cool band, but I haven't picked up their new album yet. How does it compare in all aspects to their previous albums? And, do you recommend it?

I haven't listened to it enough yet to determine whether it's better than Last Broadcast, but the album pretty good. I think it's well worth buying :).

bought the new album today. listened through a couple of times, like it alot - stays true to their general sound; didn't fall overmyself like i did with the last broadcast but i'm damn happy to have it now. would strongly recommend. have never seen them live, but everyone who has here says they're great. hope to see them sometime.

Got quite into them 2000 - 2003 with Lost Souls and Last Broadcast and caught them a couple of times live.Bought Some Cities the day of release but have kind of stopped listening to it so much lately. The Last Broadcast was a bigger album for me with There Goes The Fear and Pounding. How do the band feel about Some Cities although a good album seemingly not selling more than they would have expected?.

I have the fist two albums and just got "Black And White Town", an absolutely beautiful song. I still can't believe they used to be Sub Sub ("Ain't No Love, Ain't No Use" anyone?).
