I have a chance to purchase an pristine and basically unused Bianchi Volpe road/touring bike. This bike has a Suntour groupo and is 18 speed. I estimate that it may be a 1988 model given the components. Suntour does not bother me, I like to avoid Shimano as possible but fear that it may have their version of Bio-Pace chainrings (photo does not show).

The person who is selling it got screwed on Ebay and paid $360 for a bike that is too small for him and his GF. The bike sold new for $800 something and a 2005 model sells for $800. He wants $400.

No racks, cheap pedals, no H2O bottle cages but the handlebar tape looks so damn clean (white) I could tell the beast has not seen any action. IF I buy it I would have to invest in pedals, cages and racks and a set of panniers. Would make a nice companion touring bike for my wife since I already have a Trek 520.

I offered him $250. Waddya think??

Will you be replacing your ID picture soon to reflect this? :evil4:

We have four tandems currently, two modern and two singlespeed cruiser style junkers that I need to restore--a Schwinn Twin and a Sears Sportsflite. The black tandem is our Gary Fisher mtb that I converted into a touring beast. The yellow is our Canondale RT3500 that we have yet to really use much (500 miles in 4 years). Usually whenever I purchase a new expensive bike Mrs Twist is blessed with child so now I try to buy used bikes. The she rode the Canondale two weeks before Dora was born.

Thank you, Sir. I may clean out the garage to get photos of the other two. Thought I had one of Wifey on the Sears but its not on the pc.
