128 usually. 160/192 depending of the case.

As I have mp3 in my car that makes difference, because of the lenght of the file.

I thought you could only do variable on WMA? That's what I use anyway and at 160.

The bitrate of CD audio is 44100 * 16 * 2 = 1411200 bps = 1411 kbps.

...1411 kbps ist CD quality, 320 kbps is the best mp3 quality - choose for yourself...

Mike, minidisk is a compressed format(data reduction) so it will still lack the fidelity of anything at full 16bit 44.1kHz(CD quality audio). I haven't read up on minidisk in a VERY long time but I don't think it's changed much. The DAT will be superior as an initial recording device over minidisk.

I used 192, but when I recognized my very fast vanishing hard-disc space (due to mp3) I changed to 128 (I wouldn't go lower).

Depends on what it is for, if it is a sample of a show for JDBT then it will probably be 128. If it is for the FTP it will be 192 if I remember. Or something like that.
