Doesn't matter. The Cure have been a poor solo project ever since Porl left. They will continue on as long as Robert wants money to pay for his makeup.

I dont think Roger was fired, though his statement implies it. he's been bitching about leaving the cure for a long time now. anyhoo, life goes on. I want Porl & Borris back, but Jason is still around, but i'll settle for Porl & Steve Severin as the replacement for Roger.

They did it as a 3 piece for two of their best albums. Too bad Robert can't write worth shit anymore. This should make their live repertoire about as small as New Order's...well, maybe not that small, but it should still limit them somewhat.

For a moment, reading the thread title, I thought he might had lost weight...

The Cure is Robert and Simon, although Rodger's keyboard lines were great on Bloodflowers. However, they were seemingly missing from their last album. I'm really disappointed Rodger's gone; some of the jazz-inspired keyboard lines he's written made the Cure's songs more than those of a rock band with synth embellishments.

Actually, and hugely to my own suprise, I rather liked their last album - thought it was an improvement on the rather dull romantic-mode-cure-by-numbers bloodflowers (and infinitely better than the diabolically bad WMS). Gives me some cause for hope for the next NO effort - apparently once-good-but-now-tired bands can recapture a little of the old magic.

I never fucking cared for the CURE.

Yes it is that hard. Last three lps not that good. Who listens to the last three anyway?? BF?? NO. The Cure?? No. WMS?? No. All downhill since Distintegration/Entreat. Wish has a few good moments, more than those that followed. Which brings up this point: Entreat brings the Disintegration songs to life, the studio lp seems too damn lifeless. Everything after Dis sucks. So what Cure do we really listen to??

My list: The first 2--3 Imaginary Boys and Boys Don't Cry--good pop lps--same listing almost count as 1 lp 17 Seconds--best of early Cure Pornography--depending on my mood The Top--for my weird moods Carnage Visors soundtrack Entreat

Hey, I like Bloodflowers. I listen to it often. The songs on Wish sound better on Show, so I listen to that. Disintegration is good and so is Kiss Mex3. As far as early Cure goes, 17 Seconds hits the spot - Faith always sounds like it's b-sides - and Pornography sounds better live, so I pop in Trilogy if I want to hear it. The Top and Japanese Whispers are rarely played, mostly because the sound quality is bad and the songs from JW are on the box set.

jesse, it's spelled roger, not rodger. having been the same line-up for the last 3 albums and roger playing with the band in the late 80's, you should have known that. ;)

i can see why people cannot remember anyone in the band except robert with all the lin-up changes. but to his credit, band photos are usually of the whole band and not just robert.
