Yet another Arcade Fire thread...

I must admit, the more I listen to funeral, the more I love it...

But I'd advise it more for CURE fans than New Order fans, as I find the style more closer to the Cure than New Order.

I must say I'm impressed to have that quality of music coming out of my home town.. even though most of the bands aren't really canadian, but foreign exchange students ;)

Even their tentative french is good.. with a strong accent of course, but still !

The only New Order connection I can see is having female in a boys leaded group ;)

Their website sucks a little, maybe I should help out a local band..

After giving the world terrible artists like Bryan Adams, Celine Dion and Shania Twain, Canada is finally redeeming itself. Loads of good bands are coming out of Canada now: The Stills, Pony Up!, The Dears, Kid Koala, The Unicorns, Hot Hot Heat, Tegan And Sara and Death From Above 1979. I think it's pretty impressive.

Problem is, they are totally unknown LOCALLY... I don't know any of those but The Stills.

We have others like Simple Plan (which many of you might not like, but still, they are a not so bad Green Day ripoff ;) ) and David Usher.

David Usher is doing great music... more commercial of course, he did a lot of great tunes with Moist before too, then moved to Montreal from Alberta because of the music scene.

Funny though, english artits coming out of the french side of Canada ;)

There is also another one Ally talked to me about, Tiga? I don't know him, but he's apparently good.
