Anyone else got MinimumMaximum by Kraftwerk?

Its fantastic - espically Radioactivity. I never really liked that song, but the live version is amazing.

Its not available on DVD yet - at least not in these parts.

They really have re-imagined their old sound so very very well. Without resorting to the bashing of NewOrder on other threads, when you see how kraftwerk reimagine and reproduce older work, keeping it authentic and contemporary - and contrast it with True Faith/ BLT '98 it really makes you wonder what could've been!

Some nice photos on the inlay too. Can't wait to see them in Stradbally this Summer.

Why the mix recordings from different venues though? Can't be that much different, surely... Some of the audience sounds a bit canned as well, but that's only a minor irritation.

And completists note - the German edition has the same tracklisting, but with German language versions of a lot of the tracks.

I had never heard "Dentaku" before. Its really good. The Japaneese crowd really seem to get into it.

Cant wait for the DVD either. I got my ticket today for the electric picnic - for my 3rd time in 2 years to see them live.

If the DVD is half as good as they were in Mancland last year then it will be well worth a few quid

It may be worth holding on to your cash, I'm sure they're releasing as 5.1 stereo sacd of it. I also wonder whether it matters what venue the recordings come from, especially for 'The Robots' where the band don't even appear for f***s sake! (the robots are on stage while the band change into their nice lycra gear). They may have picked the tracks based on audience ambience and whether Ralf put any effort into the songs, he appeared to speak most lyrics at the RFH.

Anyway - back to Kraftwerk. There is a STONKING 1975 soundboard on Dime at the moment from Croyd... Croy... Cr... I can't bring myself to say it. That place Palarse play anyway.

That's part of the act, when "The Man Machine" was released back in 1978 they did interviews where they said in the future their music would be performed by robots.

I played "We are the robots" at a lounge the other day, and heard some jocks say this is the worst song ever. Im still on a high from seeing them last week.

Talking of Kraftwerk, I followed your last link to the Kraftwerk Tokyo show 1981, I'm looking forward to doing a bit of compare and contrast - first impressions are that the Tokyo show has a more human feel to it.

Jesus H. Christ I know that!!!! I'm questioning the wisdom of putting the track on a LIVE album when there's no fucker on stage!!!! (p.s. seen em live 1981 [sheffield], 199x [sheffield]and 2004 [londinium]I've got the joke by now) ;-)

I downloaded a video of them performing Aero Dynamik on MTV (they are introduced by Kylie Minogue, for some unknown reason) and at first i wasn't sure if it was them or their stand-in robots. Hard to tell the difference really.

Seen em twice on the 1991 tour and caught them at Brixton Academy (midnight show)on the 2004 tour.Bought the live CD this week.BUT WHEN`S THE DVD OUT!!?????

According to the record shop guy, the best DVD eveer will be out soon. Different people manufacture and distribute the CD and DVD.

As an aside: have you ever met a German who likes Kraftwerk? Anyone from Germany I've ever talked to seems to know fuck all about them. Usually "oh, that wierd electronic group", or even "who are they". And Chris DeBurgh is big in Germany
