Anyone fans of The Bravery, they sound a bit like a mix of Echo and the Cure. They're a new band from New York- I believe- their song "Honest Mistake" rocks!
Honest Mistake

Saw them on Tuesday night. Reasonably entertaining i suppose. Quite an inconsistent album if you ask me.
I'll be seeing them in July in Washington DC at the 9:30 Club, haven't heard too much of the rest of the debut album but the song "Honest Mistake"- I like it a lot.
An Honest Mistake is a Very catchy song from a band I like to hate. The album is inconsistent, and the lead singer wants to look like a mix between Moz and Andrew Dice Clay. That is all.
:barf:
rip off of new order. fuck em. 5-8-6 sequencer is the only thing that makes that song good. bunch of poofs.
i went to boarding school with the lead singer, sam. he's a nice guy--used to be in a band called 'chester and the kumquats' back in high school. i'm glad to see he's successful. and he's not a poof, churchy. ;)

I thought the Andover old-school-tie might get an airing in this thread ;)

but of course, old boy. :D
however, it must be said that although we have old-school-ties, we did not have old school ties. no dress code, mind you!

Not really. More a rip off of the Cure. Especially the 2nd song on the album. I had to check that it wasnt fat bob singing!
Can't stand them myself. As far as I can see, they can't decide whether they want to be The Killers or Franz Ferdinand (both of whom I like, BTW). As for their singer - well, imagine throwing Moz and one of The Libertines in a blender with a tin of black paint. (Check out the Honest Mistake vid and you'll see what I mean!)

I know what she means. Fucking Morrissey wannabe. And you better believe they stole the 5-8-6 sequencer line for that song...but their other songs don't sound like New Order (I should've specified). Honest Mistake is a one-hit wonder single...their other songs sucketh.
I dont understand where the libertines come in. And Sam Endicott doesnt really rip of morrissey, more a dave gahan rip off in style, robert smith in voice.

Thats sound like me in college. I went to an all boys private high school with a strict uniform code. We also had to wear tiny white shorts for physical education.

knowing sam, he would probably piss his pants if he knew he looked like dave gahan!
although he kind of does, doesn't he....![]()

I was actually thinking of the way the guy looks in that vid, Liam. Check his jacket out; it's like the ones the Libs used to wear, only it's black. Plus, his hairstyle's very similar to Moz's.
is this the same band where the lead singer used to have dreads ala the dude from offspring and was in a ska band and then changed his appearance to look more hipster electro clash new wave for the current trend? and were'nt they signed cause of the sucess of the killers? i dont know anything about their music but remember reading a clip about i think this band in blender when they were comparing the killers and this band, the bravery i think.

I never knew any of that about them! Bunch of fakers, then. I don't see how Blender can compare them to The Killers, who are (IMO) way better.

Yep, that's the closest you'll get to hearing 5-8-6 live.
