Given that New Order could never be accused of being prolific or hard-working, I was just idly wondering if there are any bands that have put out more material, in total or per-diem, than, say, the Fall? Who else has a back catalogue that could fill a landfill site? Sonic Youth seem to churn 'em out - any other contenders?
Which still-existing band is the most prolific?

I think if you add all the "best-of" compilations of varying degrees of quality, oldie acts like the Beach Boys, the Stones, Grateful Dead, etc., probably outdo the Fall. As far as original albums, though, the Fall probably have that market cornered ![]()

Maybe if you count all the music they did for porn-movies

its kinda hard being prolific when your dead unless your tupac, or biggie.

The Fall have to be up there, "always the same, always different" according to Peelie, but I'd go for the Sun City Girls as having the most releases.......don't think even their most hardcore fans have all of 'em.....
bands like the cure, u2, rolling stones seem to be popping out an album every couple of years, which is far too frequent for my liking.
