I was kind of impressed in Manathan, each street looks like the main street of Montreal, that is impressive... there might be only 2 or 3 streets like that in Montreal (St-Catherine being the biggest one)

We also have a park in the middle of the town, a mountain (sorry, dead volcano actually) in fact, and due to city restrictions, no building can be higher than the mountain.

It's an island, usually the west part is english and the east part is french, separated by St-Laurent street...

Montreal is known for his european style, they used the old Montreal as Paris is many american movies, and they even use it for New York in some , Montreal is also known for its nightlife, but it might be pale compared to New York of course...

One thing though, by coming in September, you miss most of the summer activities... Montreal is a festival city, we have one each week all summer!

Anyways, I suggest you visit this site for all you need to know, and if you do find some time, I strongly suggest to plan one day in QUEBEC CITY, it's a 3h road trip only (so 6h total), and it's well known as one of the best tourist location in North America... the city is just beautiful and it's well worth it, trust me...

There is a bus ride each hour to go there.. by train it would take forever... and cost more, so it's up to you.

But one day in Quebec City is a MUST DO... there is a lot of tourists in the summer, but be prepared because Quebec City is a lot more french than Montréal is though ;)
