I've been all tingly with anticipation for months now. Been watching Romero's original trilogy in reverse-order this past week or two. Her Hotness, Asia Argento is indeed in it, as is Dennis Hopper and John Leguizamo, who are sure to be unintentionally funny.
I'm seeing the flick late tonight with the gf, and will report back on it tomorrow. Have to write up a one-page review of it for the local newspaper. Should be much better than the "Dawn" remake.
I saw the midnight show last night, and really liked it. Romero furthers a lot of his social commentary from the first three (particularly that of DAWN OF THE DEAD) in a really interesting, intelligent way. It was a bit short on gore and action at times - it lacks a proper climax - but I really enjoyed it anyway. I recommend it.
George Romero is a geezer, can't wait for this film to land in the UK. Recently saw Resident Evil apocalypse, what a mess !!! 28 Days Later's amazing, love that Dawn remake too. As for Shaun of the Dead - "Cornetto", total class !!
Land of the Dead was class! Romero's still got it, apart from a smattering of dumb parts. Good satire on Bush's war on terrorism. The social commentary in this one is much more timely. Local newspaper published my review of it. Tee hee. Highly recommended.

it's fantastic. if you can get your hands on spaced--the TV series starring and written by simon pegg and jessica stevenson (both in shaun of the dead)--do it. it's one of the most brilliant shows ever. they show it occasionally on BBC america.
