Thank god for new order.

Inxs singer kills himself, and form reality show to replace him. Everybody is aweful with their theatrics. All style, no substance. Never an inxs fan but hutchence must be spinning in his grave.

we all know the story about jd/no. They truly did change music twice.

Just the idea of that show makes me ill. Was never a big INXS fan but I do like a few songs here and there. Cannot believe they would subject themselves to something like this.

Yes, thank God for NO.

Watched the 2nd half of it, and it was actually interesting...

Now, Almanso's body double Dave Navaro is part of the show

What do you want.. luckily for INXS, Michaal Hutchence was not the main songwriter of the group, so the group can carry on, but they are getting older.. it would have been easier at the same age New Order started, they were at the beginning of their career!

Remember, Ian did it when he was quite young... much too young in fact!

i think this is exploitation at its worst. if they found a singer on their own, fine. but to do it this way...:nonono:

Totally agree..Very crass move of INXS....Bit of a joke set-up.... Is Simon Cowell on board??Jeez! And amen to the "Thank God for New Order"shouts:clap: INXS clearly lack integrity. To go and stage this tosspot competition,in my eyes it is aimed at garnering publicity to the MAX,with the show format the media, and sadly the general public on mass, lap up....and INXS were shite anyhow IMHO:shrug:

Was that before or after Nick Cave was done with her?

And then what you think of Jacques Villeneuve for shagging Kylie's sister then? :skeptic:

This will start a disturbing trend in which over-the-hill rock bands have their lead singers "commit suicide" (never mind the fact that no sane person would swallow gasoline, stretch out their neck with a nylon cord, shoot themselves in both the head and heart, slit their wrists and ankles, and find the time to choke down five bottles of pills and choke on a ham sandwich) just so they can hold talent contests to find a new frontman or -woman. The new guy or gal will be brought in on a trial basis....but so help him or her if they cross the bass player! :evil4:

Perhaps I'm putting too much thought into this

INXS did some fantastic stuff when Michael was alive, the wheels came off though towards the end - the idea of a reality show to replace him is idiotic and disrespectful, INXS will still be crap with a new (plastic) front man; their hey-day is well and truly over, they should put their feet up and live off back catalogue royalties...

Oh INXS, one is left to wonder, Do You Believe in Shame?

INXS have really great pop tunes and their work is a lot of fun, I have several albuns from them (even replaced old vinyls for CDs) and also went to two (great) concerts here in Rio. They did a 3rd concert some years ago with a new vocalist, but I didn't attend the call, for me the band is over and life moves on.

It's somehow stupid to compare INXS with New Order, the only resemblance is that both singers commited suicide. Oh, and both bands had tracks on "Pretty In Pink" soundtrack.

Rumours say Hutchence's death was an accident, that he was actually jerking off while suffocating himself with a belt. Strange way to have pleasure. I read don't-remember-where that Ian's death was one of the same type, but I believe in his case this is fake.

I liked a couple of songs from their first album. But to be honest, I haven't played that album for 20 years.

Sorry.

I think it's kinda funny that they show old concert footage where INXS was at the height of their careers and selling out stadiums. Telling the contestants that this is what they're going to get if they win. I really doubt they're going to attract that many people again without michael hutchence.

I find the whole idea of this vile. Makes you wonder what their fans think about it?

I think most of the performers are talented in their own way. It's an interested idea, yes, but... for INXS to do this is a bit shameful and reeks of selling out. It's gonna be silly when one of these kids actually wins and is going to front this aging band of mid-life men. I heard somewhere that the winner is only guaranteed a one album contract with the band. Either way, for INXS to do this I've lost some respect for them and Michael would indeed be rolling in his grave!
