down at Craven Cottage. £5 on the door for a £20 ticket was a bargain I thought but in the end the match was pretty average stuff. Have to say the Celtic fans are something else - it was like Seville all over again, except in sunny Putney. Put the Fulham fans to shame, both in numbers and noise. Any of the Celtic b(h)oys on here go?

yeah i was there, beautiful day, not the best game i've ever been to, i'll be in leicester for the game tuesday aswell
I suffered the game round at Stubbsy's dads! Great to the Hoops out in force (as always!) How bad was Magic's penalty? 
If there are any last minute drop outs, I am going to the Leicester game as well.
Sutton started in midfield and did quite well and your young lad Aiden McGeady (not sure about that) looks very talented, although the Celtic lad next to me said he has doubts about whether he'll make it at the top level. Still a decent day out - nice one Celtic fans, really impressed here

Must confess i'd not really heard of him before yesterday.
By all accounts he's certainly versatile - centre half, right back, even played up front for you last year.
Sky Sports just had an interview with him and showed some excellent goals he got from last season.
He claimed to have always followed Celtic's fortunes 
even though i gather he was a Brighton fan first and foremost.
Nice to see positive feedback from some of your message boards, all very complimentary towards him and wishing him all the best.
It'll be interesting to see which position wee Gordon has earmarked for him in the team.
Got a text at 9 yeaterday morning from Clive saying "Adam Virgo is a good player" all I could do was text back with "Who?"
Checked him out around the web as well, your Player Of The Year last year then lads, he looks decent enough, I guess time will tell, I think he will play right back with license to go forward, cos that's how it seems with Camara on the left.
Nakamura should hopefully put pen to paper today as well.
That's Camara me ole fruitcake, signed him a couple of weeks back from Burnley. He looks promising, but apparently his temperement can get the better of him sometimes, it'll be interesting to see how these lads get on in the Champions League after playing lower level English football.

Virgo can play anywhere. He's technically a central defender, but he knows where the the back of the net is alright.

No Celtic joy this year for those in the Northwest alas, all we get this year is a visit from Sunderland (?
?), a local rag guesses that there'll be about 300 Mackems here for the match, half of 'em from overseas.
I'm sure good ol Boro fan Hugh Mickle would appreciate it if they lost (as well as any Newcastle fans here), so I'll be there Saturday night cheering for the Timbers like mad.

Do any of you Celtic fans remember Danny Crainie when he was at Parkhead. He played for Ballymena United who I support, around 10 years ago.
I remember on his debut against Linfield he chipped their goalie from 30 yards and celebrated my sliding on his knees, clenching his fist to the Ballymena faithful going bonkers in the Warden Street Stand.

Danny Crainie played a few games for the Bhoys around 83/4 if memory serves correct - I might be wrong but I'm sure he was in the Scotland Schoolboys team that beat England 5-4 in 1980, our Cousin John Sludden got 2 as did the Maestro himsel Paul McStay!

Pat Nevin is indeed a big fan of both Joy Division & New Order. Dean Kiely the Charlton and Republic keeper lists LWTUA as his favourite song of all-time. There are bound to be a few more, I seem to recall DoN and Jarvo naming names in the past - mainly people that have been on Soccer am

He only played around 20 games for Celtic from 81-83.
The highlight of his career at Parkhead was scoring the opening goal against Rangers in the first minute in a
2-1 win in 81.
He never played in that schoolboys team Shug, he was a couple of years older than Paul McStay.
I think Christy is pulling your leg. 
I remember another player from the Irish League called Paul Byrne who also scored against Rangers.
