We have a water leak outside our house. Water is pumping uf through the asphalt. Our house is soon under water.
The water guys was just here, and turned the water off. They will try to fix the problem tomorrow, but the whole road is whithout water until they fix it.
And I worry about water damage to the house.
Yeah, I love my new house.

Nah, I don't think so. The pipes are from 1967, and they are probably wornout (spell?)

If they turned the water of what should happen to your house. Did they finish? Or is this a big thing with opening up the streets and making new pipes 'n stuff? No water for months?
I must say that I'm very impressed of the water guys. They came at 7PM last night, looking for the bad pipe. Started to dig a hole in the street round 9PM. Dug a 4 meter deep hole, and found the broken pipe.
At 4AM I woke up and went to the toilet, and voila: water worked again.
That was pretty fast repair work, in my eyes at least.
Here a little story from my little village... A lot of building is going on around here. They restructure an old coal mine area. While restructuring you have always have to look for old WWII bombs around here. We had a big train depot here back then... Well, some weeks ago they found a huge american bomb which had to be disarmed. Evacuation had to be done. At that time I was at work (funnily I work at the bureau that directs that building work). It was close to calling it a day when I heard that the disarming should take place immediately. So I sat there waiting for my parents to call me, telling me that the danger was gone. Nearly every of my co-workers smiled at me "I can go home now." and went off... At last it was just 1 1/2 hours of uncertanity if I could ever go home again... That was really a strange feeling... The good news is that they found at least 3 more bombs there... Perhaps in the next days or weeks I will be evacuated personally finally... We should rename the village to Evacuation Town...
