A little bit of sad news to relate to you all-after a long-term battle with terminal cancer, Ronald Kirsch's mother passed away on Tuesday this week. I'm sure that us fellow NOOLers will send him our sincerest condolences at this particular time. His mum is now in a better place, be it Heaven, Nirvana, Valhalla, etc.

Yours sincerely,

Shane McMinn(AKA Shergold Six)

My condolences as well. Keep yer head up, Ron, and come back when you're up to it. Funny how sharing your grief over something with a worldwide community of folks you may have never even met helps you get over your loss in time.

Not that I know Ron, but condolences all the same - bear in mind what Taboo#7 wrote - come back soon; sharing with others helps.

One of the effects of losing someone so close is it makes you much more sensitive when it happens to others around you.

My mother died of cancer last year and it was like joining a club you really didn't want to belong to. But friends and colleagues who had been through a similar experience were a great support at such a sad time.

How terrible for you Ron. I'v always felt lucky that my mother has survived breast cancer, news of this type always makes me sad that not everyone wins this battle. Deepest sympathies and regards.......:( :( :(

I caught up with Ron after the funeral today and passed on all your condolences and best wishes for the future. He'll be back on NOOL once he gets some other issues post-funeral sorted and thanks you all at this time.

I cant imagine how hard is to lose a parent. Best wishes to Ronald, it takes time to recover.

My parents told me years ago that parents are the best friends you'll ever have. I know some people are born into shitty families, but what they said is usually true, I've come to discover. No matter how good you think your mates are, your parents are there for you in ways your mates will never be. Losing your parents makes you realize just how alone in this world you really are.

A big thank you to all those who offered their good wishes. Things are going to be a bit strange here for a while after taking care of her for more than 2 years. No more driving her to medical appointments, no more hospital visits, no more getting her her prescriptions, no more doing her shopping etc.

My word there's a lot to be done when someone dies, and I'm nowhere near finished. Funerals don't come cheap either. Anyway today is my first day back at work, see how I go

The business of life has to continue, unfortunately. Hope you can handle it with the bare minimum of crap that goes on regularly in everyday life.

Thoughts and prayers, Ron
