Slack Pommie batsman don`t disappoint with the same old same old technique. McGrath is a pure genius but
Poms need some batting practise

hmmm...england need a welshman to take two key wickets and a welshman to top score, and their hopes of salvaging something from the first innings rest on a south african.
but a great day's cricket whichever side you support!

probably help if i was scottish?? do your research before slagging
The way Warne and McGrath are bowling, practise is irrelevant. They are the difference between the two sides, we just need to see how long they can keep it up.
Onto the important stuff, what the chuff is the pie eater wearing? Looks like platform shoes and flares, is this all the rage down under?
Cricket?.Nah .Aint avin mate.A game for pensioners and warm beer loving middle England ,Gap wearing ,Holidays in South of France tossers

Did I say football? I meant soccer :D What is there to know? We beat American Somoa 31-0..errr yes that was a soccer match. Also Tonga 22-0 and Cook Islands 17-0, all top quality competition![]()

of course, i meant soccer (or real football), as well.
and how did you fare against vanuatu? i hear they're tough to beat this year.
and watch out for pitcairn island. i hear christian is on top form this year. so are christian and christian.

Thanks for the practise yesterday, with all those sixes I thought I was watching THIS for a while.:D
........... and thanks for hanging round long enough to give us some bowling practise as well

Incredible.
Isn't Murv actually a lost Pom anyway?
Cricket was fantastic, tough result to swallow but sets up the series nicely. We need McGrath back.
There's always a bunch of NOOLers who log on and slag any cricket thread that arises, apparently appreciation of the game in England is undermined by class issues. Well whatever. It's enjoyed by all walks of life down here.
As for the 'soccer', it's nowhere near as popular here as other football codes. We've got a few world class players who all play in Europe but mostly no one gives a rat's ass. Bit of a shame.
AgentWood, you'd be interested to hear that we actually knocked off England last time we played.

That cunning plan of getting McGrath out injured, so the tail-enders would actually score some runs almost payed off.

Why, are you a one man team then?
Cracking entertainment. Nice to see Warne make up for his first innings faux-pas of galloping down the wicket by staying rooted firmly to the stumps in the second. The chants of "You're a wanker" as he walked were clearly audible on Radio 4...
We're probably less of a one-man team than your chaps, OB.
Take Freddy out of England in this game and you were cactus. We were only 2 runs short minus one of the best bowlers in history.
All of sudden all our English cousins want to talk about cricket again. What a funny world. The last time any of them uttered the word "Ashes", Fine Time was in the charts.
:\pimp3:
Don't spoil it!! So rarely do we win, at least let us have five minutes to crow about it...
Damn fine effort by your boys, those last overs were excruciating but no-one would have denied what a fine victory it would have been if you'd pulled it off.
Come on Depthy - "Congratulations, England". It won't kill you to say it! :D

Hardly! Been trying to get a rise out of you for some time aussies performance v Bangladesh
Can't be bothered to find the earlier threads, the search from google is shocking.
England a one-man team? Don't think so but Flintoff is outstanding, roll on Manchester. ![]()
Fair enough James, I don't generally travel in these parts (BCD / The daft side) anymore. Trying to retain the little sanity I have left.
Over the years I've dished out the cricket grief here but it's normally met with silence / a few "Ho hums, we're only into football" / or some entertaining cracks from NOOL's resident Barmy Armyman Johnny Giles.

It's not us who drink shandies; you and your bloody lager tops! Ridiculous.
And no, we don't actually shrimp on barbies either.
Anyway, look how gracefully we accept defeat...everyone is crying into their shandy today.
