That's the sound I heard not too long after 5AM when I was looking at the news about the shuttle landing in Edwards AFB. It suprised me since I remember sonicbooms from shuttle being much louder (I used to live half an hour or so away from Edwards AFB where a bit less than half of the shuttle missions have landed). It just sounded like someone knocking loudly on my living room window. Plus I enjoyed watching on tv my favorite part of a shuttle landing which is the deploy of the parachute to slow down the shuttle on the runway. I hope I can go see a landing live again some time in the next few years.
Anyways, I hope in the future if any new launch/landing site is constructed it should be in the Mojave Desert of California where the weather is much more stable and clear compared to Cape Canaveral.
