The reimagining is fantastic. If you loved or hated the old show I can pretty much guarantee that you'll love the new show anyway.
Boomer and Starbuck have certainly increased their eye candy quotients as well...

I loathed the old show ("Battlestar 1980", or whatever it was called, was never shown on portuguese TV, praise the Lord!)
but this "re-imagining" thing... I have yet to see it, but what's the friggin' point in "re-imagining" an hideous, dated, stupid 70's show? So the Cylons are now human creations... who look like humans? So Baltar is now a playboy c***? So Starbuck is now a w****? So now these "humans", who live in the far reaches of space and know nothing about Earth, wear early-21st century clothes and have american-sounding names like "hello" and "countdown"?

Hey! I know you and a load of other sci-fi fans like me are nervous about the new Battlestar, but just give it a chance. Buy the double pilot episode and give it a go- if you are a sci-fi fan you will be more than pleasantly surprised- I PROMISE!

Yes, knowing me I'll probably buy the DVD boxset...
I loved the original version of the show...even the cheeseball version that came in 1980 or so, where they supposedly find Earth...
but this new version is out-frigging-standing...much darker...and you never know who is going to be killed off...then come back...it's GREAT...
I record it every week...

Spot on. I refused to watch it at first as I thought all the changes would make it crap. Then one weekend the pilot episode was repeated & I tuned in cos there was nothing else on & I was stunned! Couldn't believe how good it was. Naturally I became addicted to series one & I'm waiting (im)patiently for season two to start over here.
I posted pics on a Battlestar thread on NOOL before, but what the hell, they're worth seeing again. (Enjoy, Jeff!!! )
