The Next James Bond?

Dame Judi Dench is staying at the hotel i work at, and yesterday none other than one of the hot tips to be the next james bond books in, Dougarry Scott.

so is this a coincedence or what....plus she got a script delivered in the morning,which all the staff have just presumed is a James Bond script

so i'll be watching them to see how they interact over the next few days before M packs her bags for home.

or maybe i'm that bored in the middle of no-where my mind is working over time to make links to different people that are innocent?

Who is he?

I'm still hoping Brosnan will put his dummy back in and go out in style- he is the best 007 of all time in my opinion...

Hugh Jackman would be good, but he'd need elocution lessons and a pair of stilts...

but for some reason his name keeps cropping up in the hat for 007...maybe they think he can be another sean connery?

i thought Eric Bana would've been good but my big hope is for clive owen i reckon he could be class.

I really wish they hadn't sacked Connery; I thought he did an excellent job. Oh well.

I really have no clue who it will be, I just hope it will be someone good.

Can't really get into the modern Bond, though I loved Pierce Brosnan and Dame Judi is brilliant.

I'm still more of a fan of the classic Sean Connery Bond flicks. Just for their pure escapist feel--everybody's dressed to the nines, they smoke and look glamourous, drink martinis all day and never get drunk, and have sex within five minutes of meeting each other for no apparent reason.

The 60's really were something!

Sometimes Mr. Scott is a Banderas look-alike...

I hoped for Hugh Jackman or if really no one wants to, Mr. Ewan McGregor (perhaps later, because he's still too young).

I grew up with Roger Moore as Bond... So he is my hero :) ...

Connery was the best, bar none.

What the filmmakers need to do is actually set the new Bond movies back in the pre-women's lib days of the early 1960's and let Bond fight those scary Commies again. With no more Cold War, it's hard to imagine a decent Bond movie.

But let's be honest... Do we still need more James Bond-films? I get tired of action movies. Every mediocre actor does one these days. Aaaallll the same sh..tuff.

james bond is not just action...it's an institution (moonraker not included).

True, look at the star trek franchise, one badly recieved film , Nemesis(even though i thought it was one of the best entries into the series)and the whole thing has fallen apart no more films are in the pipe line. Enterprise has been cancelled,so for now there is nothing and it looks like staying that way for a long time.

I love the eye-twitcher as well, it's like LWTUA verses Temptation between him and Brosnan (for me).

I've been a sci-fi fan since I could walk and I used to obssess over all things Trek, but quality slipped, then collapsed during Voyager, ST:Enterprise had glimmers of promise, but was also a piling steam of turd overall.

ST:Nemesis was the final nail in the ST coffin to me.

It was nearly a great film, but the Gorgonzola quotient was overwhelming... and if Mr. Stewart has had enough of ST it would have been a good idea for him to mention it prior to filming, then Picard could have been killed off, providing an emotional impact that could have saved the integrity of the film...

Now though, I hope ST stays dead for 5 years, then someone other than Berman should resurrect it...

Moonraker was one of my faves... although i'm a (obviously) sci-fi fan which probably explains it...

If Brosnan doesn't do Casino Royale I would go for Clive Owen. Hoping for a decent theme song this time around too.

"Moonraker" was my longtime fav. too. I was about 12 years old when I saw it first. It's a nice childrens movie, isn't it? But now my favourite Bond-Movie is "A view to a kill" (not a last because of Ch. Walken and G. Jones)

They "big 3" were all great: Connery was the perfect 60s Bond Moore was the perfect 70/80s Bond Brosnan was the perfect 90/beginning 00s Bond

There is nobody with an aura and charisma, like they all have, today. Whoever takes the part now, for me the Bond-series has ended with Brosnan's last appearance (which was the last movie).

X-men 3 is gonna suck big time! Brett bloody Ratner will mess up one of the most promising comic book franchises ever. if Fox would just hold off and wait for Bryan Singer to finish Superman then come back to X-men there still could be something great, but now we have a stupid messed up production changing directors 3 times and a an aditional cast that is laughable ,i mean Vinny Jones?? come on!

If it's the Phoenix story it's going to be a complete pig's arse, only someone who loves the XMen will get that right.

If it's a Sentinals or Juggernaut story then that's a lot more simple- some chance of success...

P.S. Glad to see someonelse likes Moonraker and that no-one has the shame to admit to being a Prince Baron fan.

It must have something to do with the Phoneix story cause famke janssens in it credited as jean gery/phoenix on the x-men 3 page on IMDB.com but kellsey grammers playing the beast thats the only other big? name thats been added.

although i will say i'm sure patrick stewart will be excellent in it as per usual if it is shit he'll lift it to a respectable level on his own.

I think that Peter Stormare would be good as Bond.

Or Stellan Skarsgård.

He's good in any film. I like him very much. Especially if he's playing with Steve Buscemi (Armageddon, Fargo, Big Lebowski...)...

I love Roger Moore as Bond too and actually prefer him to Sean Connery. My brother and I argue about this everytime a bond flick is shown because he reckons no-one comes anywhere near Sean Connery in the role. The Spy Who Loved Me is my absolute all time fav of all the bond films, but even when I think back to watching these films as a little kid, it's all of the Roger Moore ones that I personally enjoyed most especially the one mentioned above.

I don't know who will take over the role next but out of all of the names circulating I would go for Clive Owen and I can kind of visualise him in the role. I think Ewan McGregor is fantastic(going to see him live in Guys and Dolls in London on Tuesday night!!!)and he is one of my favourite actors but I just cannot picture him as James Bond.
