RIP Bob Moog

Synthesizer pioneer Bob Moog passed away on Sunday August 21 after a battle with brain cancer. His fantastic inventions have left their mark on the face music and inspired the imagination of musicians eveywhere. The world was a better place for having him in it.

For those who may be unaware, the bass line in Blue Monday was created using a Moog Source.

As further proof of precognition and psionics, I was in Virgin Records this Saturday and one of the DVDs I stop to flip around and read the description of was a documentary on Moogs and Moog himself.

Seems like God has been having a clear out of a lot of decent folk from planet Earth in the last couple of years, this along with all the other recent sad losses is another weighty dollop of bad news...

Oh Robert, none of us would be here on this site without you. I mean we wax lyrical about Ian and about John Peel, but you didn't just change music, you enabled others to create NEW music.
