sorry girl, but gridiron is one of the worst sports of all time. totally americana. baseball is almost as bad.

Soccer (football) is the peoples game.

Everton FC are the peoples club. (Not - haha)

I like soccer and american football...

way cool, apart from the gridiron bit. haha i went to borussia dortmunds westfalon stadium to see the mighty Reds in action. one of THE best ever noisy compact grounds i've ever been to. it was 2001 and we became Uefa Cup WINNERS. (again!!) haha. a night i shall never forget.

I'm not into Borussia Dortmund, pal (though I live around there). You can't annoy me with that  .

pal. what's that mean? haha. not that bayern munchen then is it? or the munchen gladbachs.

my fave is Hamburg SV, coz kevin keegan and the Beatles went there. good to see Cologne back in the big league. About time too.

My team descended into the second league... VFL Bochum...

Bayern Muenchen sucks...

what does the V stand for? i've always wondered this. like with Stuttgart?

VfL stands for "Verein für Leibesuebungen"

Verein = club or association How to translate "Leibesuebungen"? Physical exercises would fit perhaps. So VfL is an ancient term for "gymnastic club".

VfB stands for "Verein für Bewegungsspiele" Club for "active games"

vielen dank. ( i think) ( i did german at school when i was 14). but not very good anymore i'm afraid. going to Berlin soon. never been before. But Killing Joke recorded their "Night Time" album there in 1985 at the Hansa Ton Stuidios - - so that's good enough for me.

aber... (eine tische fur zwei???) haha

Kein Problem...

im not picking any bears player but i might go for their defense. they look good.

mike in madden 06, in superstar mode, i led the ravens to a 15-1 record and a superbowl win over green bay. 41-19. your recievers on the real ravens look good, RB, of course he's awesome, defense is always good, todd heap is awesome. all you need now is my character lindsey lovecat as your QB :P i demanded a trade after the season and was traded to the vikings :(

Oh f..k. I just recognized that I don't have a chance to watch NFL this year... The contract between NFL and our pay-TV ended... I hope they find a solution...

What a fight that was... :)

I'm happy with having gained 4 players of my dream team at last. I'm afraid I could get an RB problem in week 4... I tried to mind the bye weeks at the draft...

I am all about the Arizona Cardinals man

Don't be suprised about their resurgent

Ronnie Curtis wrote: I am all about the Arizona Cardinals man

Just because of Kurt Warner? :evil4:

I think Arizona could be a sleeper team this year. They have good recievers, they just needed a QB to tie it all together. Warner seems to show some flashes of his former self, So we'll see.

As former QB of my favourite team I wish him luck. I wanted him as backup QB...

And I'm already trailing.... after *1* game.

There will be definitely nooo NFL on german TV this year. :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead: I suppose they spent too much money on soccer broadcasting rights already... Oh man... Perhaps one of is so kind to send me a taped game someday? There are some I'm very strongly interested in... And I caaaaaaan't see them...

thanks for the touchdown Julius Jones....

and thank goodness for the Culpepper meltdown...

Typical.. I have the 4th most higher point total, and still manage to lose.

And it will probably be higher than that, but I doubt Atlanta's defense can give me 19 points...

And one player already out for the year..

Hey Bere!

NASN to broadcast NFL in Europe European broadcaster North American Sports Network has acquired exclusive rights to show NFL games for four years in 17 European countries and shared rights in four others, it said on Wednesday.

The deal, which does not include rights for Britain or Ireland, gives 3-year-old NASN a boost as it seeks to expand into new countries and grab young male viewers in an increasingly cluttered European digital television landscape.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. It runs from the 2005-06 season through the 2008-09 season.

NASN shows baseball, basketball, Nascar and other U.S. sports and is already available in Britain, Ireland, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Iceland.

"The NFL represents one of the main pillars of American sports," NASN Chief Executive Amory Schwartz said. "It is an integral part of our continuing expansion, representing must-have content in most of the markets in which we operate."

The deal is also an opportunity for the NFL to expand its audience outside the U.S. The NBA has had success finding fans and players overseas, where soccer is the dominant sport.

"The NFL's popularity in Europe continues to grow, and we believe that NASN's approach complements our strategy to maximize coverage and build our European fan base," said Katie Boes, senior director of international media for the league.

For most markets, NASN has rights to show a minimum of six regular season games a week -- four live. NASN will broadcast 10 playoff games, the Super Bowl, the Pro Bowl and the World Bowl, the championship game for the NFL's European league.

NASN also said it planned to show at least one hour a day from the league's NFL Network, including its flagship highlight and news program "Total Access."

The deal includes rights for Austria, Albania, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Georgia, Germany, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia and Switzerland.

Hey Katja, you don't actually have to pay to watch television via internet. :evil4:

I do believe that P2P television is the future and it's here now. You can install small applications like SopCast, PPLive and PPStream to watch TV channels all over the world. I guess SopCast will do the trick for NFL.

I'm using P2P television to watch Premier League and Champions League in my computer. Directly from China. :D

You can find more info on this website: StreamSports.

I hope this helps.

mike, nice pick up of michael pitmann. i saw he was available yesterday but had no room for him. i didn't think he'd last long in free agency with cadillac going down.

It's official, I'm the most unlucky person in this league.

I think the only time I really stunk was when I was away and couldn't change my lineup, but god damn it, I'd win 6 out of 8 faceoff this week, AGAIN, and I still have to face the person who does AGAIN the most points.

:(

don't worry nic. it'll even out somehow. in some leagues i've been in, we have two winners. the overall record winner and points leader, and your team scores a lot, so in my opinion, you have one of the better teams. i was scared to play you last week and bere this week. my team has been really lucky especially if i can beat bere who has 2 point makers playing monday night.

don't listen to her.

the colts? peyton manning, edgerin james, marvin harrison... suprisingly, one of the best defenses in the nfl this year. colts should win but their defense will have a tough time with a really good st. louis offense.

I hope Bulger will "throw them into pieces"... But 40 points is very far out...

colts defense has allowed something like 29 points all year. so either of two things can happen. bulger lights them up for 400 yards and 4 tds or the defense plays well, not great and having an average game with bulger passing for about 225 and 1 td and 1 int. im hoping for the second scenario :)

Why didn't we battle last week then :banghead: ?

Well we're entering our final week of the regular season. It's been really fun this year guys. Most of the teams were pretty much evenly matched this year. There wasn't one totally dominating team!

Looks like 1 team pretty much secured a playoff spot. That team being the Ryooso, my wife's team.

Grukhas and Vocoder will get in, but one will go in as the Division winner, and one will go in as the only Wildcard team. As it stands now, Grukhas is sitting at 1st place and would be the division winner.

My team the WenOrders started really bad this season, but somehow I managed to climb up to 1st place in my division. But I am not a lock for a playoff spot yet. Shadowplay and I are tied in our Division, I'm on top because I have a few more point than him. I have to beat Spotnick's team, The killers, hope for a shadowplay lost, and score a lot of points.

Only 4 teams will head into the playoffs.

As for the other teams, I'm glad you guys participated this year.

Spotnick- You did quite well this year, considering you don't even follow the sport, better watch out for you next year!

Shellshock (rob)- You were still a tough team to beat this year!

Fat Cats (bere)- I think we really need to watch out for you next year also! I think you did very well for your first season.

Frank Smarra- I guess you gave up early on :P ...

anyways, good luck!

i was hoping the top 2 teams in each division would get in for a total of 6 playoff teams only cause there are so many good teams this year and the competition among the teams from the top 6 or 7 records are pretty much evenly matched.

yahoo vs. nfl.com?

aside from nfl.com letting only 4 teams go to the playoffs, everything else about it rocked. i love the live scoring and how easy it is to check the scores of the real nfl games. thanks for switching to nfl.com mike :)

WenOrder wrote:

Thx... I did this season very well without proper preparation, so you all better watch your back next season.

I had two close 4-point losses in the beginning, and then there was my big QB-breakdown. Both injured. And there were some wrong benchings that costed me some esential points. However thank you for this experience... I can't wait for next season.

Actually my reality team (Rams) doesn't make it to the play-offs either. So I hold thumbs for the Colts. Manning has to win this year. He is the best (for years now) without question...

nic.... hmmm wow. not only did you win but you pretty much eliminated mike from the playoffs. unless aaron brooks scores 31 or 32 points monday night. but your match-up against mike is the perfect example of a "spoiler".

i dont want to be the wildcard seed. it means i have to play gurkas again. or maybe ryoosos. either way, its going to be tough as fuck to beat them. i usually have no luck against them the past 2 years. however, i beat both of them the last time we played each other so the revenge factor will be pretty high :/

Yep, I'm out, First time since I created this league in 1997, I am NOT going to be in the playoff. I guess I kinda accepted it early on, but I manage to make a comeback, so I thought i was going to make it.

Oh well, at least i don't have to face my wife in the playoffs, those are usually the more touchier games each year.

Good luck all!

Not my fault Mike didn't play Manning ;)

Actually, last week I won and that gave him the top position, funny thing is I won my 2 games against Mike, and don't ask me why!

Sure thing is, I improved since last year.. but it's evident that I'll never win unless I'm very lucky, because I don't follow the action at all, so I almost did no move all season... which obviously doesn't help.

You know what sucks with those fantasy leagues?

Why isn't there a "consolation round" for out of playoffs team to determine the "best of the rest"... :evil4:

Not that Frank would win anything, I wonder if he actually checked his team once this season

It depends who you use to host your league. ESPN leagues have them.

I want to brag and laugh and show off and all that stuff, but i need to get this damn research paper done. ill be back tomorrow to rub it in :)

it was really fucking sweet beating gukha's. not only has he been a rival for 3 years now, but his damn running backs alone can outscore the majority of the teams in our leauge. better luck next year bitch!

and to top it all off, in shadowplays leauge, i'm also in the championship game!

i have the chance of winning two fantasy leauges in one year!

mike, do you have my adress? i want the trophy for my parade next tuesday morning!

Seems like you're in now... I think it's picking players and creating the best possible team to earn points... I didn't really get how it works myself... More fun then ;).
