No Babe, top choice! Tricky - Black Steel . Better than PE's version, and Martinas voice is sublime.

thes best opening line of all time is:

"In 1984 I was hospitalized for approaching perfection. Slowly screwing my way across Europe/they had to make a correction."

-"Random Rules" by the Silver Jews

"There is no culture is my brag, Your taste for bullshit reveals a lust for a home of office THIS IS THE HOME OF THE VAIN! THIS IS THE HOME OF THE VAIN! Where are the obligatory niggers?* HEY THERE FUCKFACE!! HEY THERE FUCKFACE!! There are twelve people in the world The rest are paste."

-"The Classical" by the Fall

"Destroy your safe and happy lives/ Before it is too late"

-"Memphis Egypt" by the Mekons

"There is no castration fear" from "We Dance" by Pavement

"I get violent when I'm fucked up, I get silent when I'm drugged up" from "Cheat" by the Clash

Too many to choose from!

Just from what I've been listening to:

"Radio, live transmission"

From the very start you know your ears are about to achieve a state of grace

And Morrissey in yet another honourable mention, "Piccadilly Palare":

"Off the rails I was and off the rails I was happy to stay, GET OUT OF MY WAY

On the rack I was, easy meat and a reasonably good buy"

On the surface he seems sensible But underneath the logic is crazy Like a cat that walks with cruelty Or a dog that always bites for no reason I could feel the madness there But I couldn't see the streets for the houses And all the lies and fantasies Were suddenly malicious and dangerous

BRILLIANT! How did I not think of that first?

I also vote for 24HPP: "How old are you, are you old enough? Should you be in here, watching that?" Hilarious!:thumb:

Section 25 - "Crazy Wisdom"

"The hills look so far away Oils painted recklessly Trees lit, all paisley try We change gears and drive on by By(e) by(e) by(e) by(e) by(e) by(e) by(e) by(e)"

Incredible, when heard with the music. One of my very favorite songs of all-time. Absolutely brilliant.

For me, the best EVER opening, not necessarly lines, for a song is U2's Where The Streets Have No Name.

That song is good, but the intro in itself is IMHO far superior to the song itself.

The live intro is simply amazing...
