For the sake of it, another useless poll!

I broke my glasses last week, now I'm trying out brand new contact lenses in SILICON... apparently they are the best but more pricy.

They do have fuzzy effects in the dark though, all lights seems to gloom a little too much :evil4:, probably too small for my eyes, oh well, we'll see about that ;)

not just glasses, but bifocals. a bitch when i'm trying to go down stairs. i tried contacts, but my eyes were too dry--i even had my lower tear ducts cauterized to solve the problem, but no dice.

i guess i'll be a four-eyes forever unless the price of lasix goes down considerably!

Glasses and contacts. I get the contacts that are good for two weeks but use them like daily. I only wear the contacts when I am bicycle riding so I can wear sunglasses. When I get my prescription I buy as many boxes of the contacts that they have since the prescription is only good for 9 months.

I wear glasses. I recently got some new ones because my old ones were on their last legs. I was reluctant to pogo at the Kaiser gig because of them.

I wear glasses. Have since I was 18 (driving license).

Used contact lenses for a year 10 years ago, but it wasn't my thing.

 i have pretty much the same thoughts about contacts, though i've only had my current classes for about 7 years. also had them for a year or two when i was younger. i'd like to be able to get have my eyes fixed with a laser someday, but i probably won't be able to afford it.

Yes I do. Armani ones, although I'm thinking of buying the new titannium Tag Heuer ones. Pricey, but classy!

Since I was about 11-12, I remember going to the mall on my birthday just for that. Great birthday present that year...:nerd:

Anyway, I'm near-sighted, extremely so (everything far off looks fuzzy unless it's right in front of me). I have considered contacts, but I'm naturally clumsy so that rules that out. Laser eye surgery seems a bit too Goldfinger-esque ("Do you expect me to see better?" "No, Mr. Seigler, I expect you to die!") :nervous:

Just took them off to check what they are, Eddie Bauer Coronado (whatever that is). They look a little like the classic glasses design, but very thin (hell, I'm wearing them in that "personal pics" pic). Toying with the idea of getting the old-style frames, but I'll probably chicken out at the last minute and opt for the "aviator lenses" :p

I wear glasses and contacts. Not at the same time tho', my vision's not quite that bad!

I used to hate wearing my glasses, which were always these massive 1980's style frames, so much that I pretty much wore my contacts all day through my teens into my mid twenties. Then an eye doctor warned that this was cutting the oxygen flow to my eyes, which would eventually result in blindness.

Based on that little nugget of info I decided to wear my glasses more. :uhoh: I did manage to find some cool looking sort of cat's eye style frames though, so it's all good :thumb:

Yes, prescription lenses, got 'em for my sunglasses as well. Didn't need 'em until well after high school, so I didn't have to listen to the "four-eyes" thing at all, not like that would've bothered me in the least.

what? no glasses until AFTER high school???

interesting....

Most days I wear my contact lenses, but at night and on occasions when I want to look more respectable I wear my prescription glasses.

Gawping at the compuer screen has destroyed my eyes. I need glasses now just to read, but can't afford to get glasses, so I struggle to get by.

That and I'd rather not do the old person thing of getting out my glasses to read. :faint:

only for driving, tv, cinema, not for reading or work

I've had glasses since I was about 5, and am horribly nearsighted. I can't see more than about 3 inches in front of me if I don't have glasses or contacts. I've had contacts for about 2 years now. I've got the soft kind, and I really like them. I probably will get lasic, but when I'm old enough.

Yeah, we are horribly blind people. :)

I had the laser surgery on one eye about 7 years ago, so now i have 1 perfect vision & one short-sight - or as i like to say ' one seeing eye & one reading eye!'

According to the surgeon, I may never need reading glases when I get older (not long now!) as I already have a reading eye! So that's handy:D
