Now that's a tough one!
Well, I have included a video game it seems 
For me, it's touch to chose between those 5:
Saving Private Ryan Amistad Schindler's List Empire of the Sun Close Encounters of the Third Kind
But I must say the movie that had the biggest impact of me is Close Encounters of the 3rd kind... even more than E.T.
And I'm also a big fan of Indiana Jones...
Good poll! My choice is INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM, without a doubt. Gotta love those chilled monkey brains. 
Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade is my Favorite the chemistry between Ford and Connery is Great and Denholm Elliot is funny as hell in this one.

I agree about the chemistry between Ford and Connery. They are hilarious as a father/son team. Definitely one of my favorite movie duos.

My favourite is Schindler's List, closely followed by Raiders of the Lost Ark.
When I visited Krakow a couple years ago, I tried to get into Schindler's old factory. The security was quite strict and the guards didn't allow me to have a closer look. It's an electronics factory called 'Telpod' nowadays.

sorry but E.T. has to be the worst movie ever, and i must have seen it 14 times in the theater between 1982 and 1983, with various Friends and relatives:dead:
i've gone for Minority Report, i just think its a class piece of Sci-fi, probably the last really good tom Cruise film too.

I dug MINORITY REPORT, as well.
I had a real struggle, because "Schindler's List" is probably the most important film of his career, but I had to go with emotion. And that emotion goes for "Raiders of The Lost Ark". Making a superhero who's also a normal man, and he gets to singlehandedly defeat the Nazis (with a little help from the Ark, mind you) 
I like how Spielberg's almost taken up the mantle from Kubrick since the latter's death. From "A.I." to what I've seen of "Minority Report" and what I imagine "WOTW" is like, he's definitely embraced a darker cinematic vision that wouldn't normally be classified as "classic Spielberg". To be sure, he wasn't always the master of hokey crowd-pleasing crap, but now he's more open to the harder edges of film. There's still some sentiment that I could do without towards the end of AI, but overall I think he's redefining himself.

not surprising, coming from a batistuta lover. 
Jaws. Funny and scary and broke new ground in film. Excellent cast. I always wanted to have Roy's baby.
Empire of the Sun. That scene when the kid is reunited with his parents after the war always gets me in tears. He did not recognize them.
Saving Private Ryan. Not as realistic as people would think, for example, all those SS runing around with Tiger tansk and a 20mm cannon but no MG42??? Come on, the very basic element of any Wehmacht or Waffen SS platoon is a fucking machine gun. Also, no P-51 Ds at Nrmoandy. But I can forgive that since him and Hanks set the standard for war movies.
Schindler's List. Ray Feines' best performance. "If I do not have enough to do already they want me to dig them all up and burn them!" I always cry at the end when they show survivors and relatives of survivors visiting Oscar's grave.

Jaws, Duel, Schindler's List, the first Indiana Jones, all very close together.
Jaws was the first movie I was allowed to go see on my own, so that'll always be near the top for me, I can still recall the audience standing up and cheering madly when the shark blew up. Duel is one I remember from loving on TV, brings back great memories of watching it with my mom and sisters, while eating popcorn and artichokes. Schindler's List is an obvious labour of love for SS, very moving film, one I've never tired of viewing. I liked how the first IJ film touched on historical fact, which elevated a great action film to an all time classic for me.
Haven't seen any SS films in the theater since Schindler's List though, I've caught bits of The Terminal and Jurassic Park on TV, interesting in places, but not enough to make me wanna go out of my way to see the rest.
Minority Report is brilliant The Color Purple makes me cry everytime I watch it Jurassic Park II - The Lost World is actually a very good sequel. Gotta love it when the dinosaur makes his way thru San Diego.

Yes he is a bit weird. He certainly has the populist touch, but every now and again he thinks he has to prove that he is a serious film maker. Unfortunately given the subject matter these tend not to be popcorn movies.
I tend to like Catch Me If You Can. It is almost a film like they used to make them in the 50s.
Close Encounters has always had a special place in my movie-loving heart alongside ET as sci-fi movies with a more human heartbeat. Schindler's List is a great lesson in a history that despite gloss put on it by the current bunch of neo-Nazis should never come to pass again in anyone's lifetime. The Indiana Jones movies are always good pieces of escapism. All round, Speilberg deserves the praise that gets heaped upon him.
Favorite would be Raiders.
Best would be Schindler.
Therefore I voted for Raiders.
Really, not a big fan though.

it's the best film i've ever seen which involves a man being chased through a cave by a giant boulder.
i've seen it more times than any other film and never tire of it. but i still prefer ET.
